Slow to come down, my thighs are shaking and achy as he eases out and helps me to stand.

Stepping back, he seems agitated raking his hands through his hair which is a mess now. He looks around lost as if he’s given too much away and regrets it.

“You need to go now.” He looks like he’s struggling for control.

I step down hating the way he’s pushing me away. Not that I expect more from him. Why would I? This whole thing is about vengeance.

I turn on Jell-O feeling legs swallowing back the trepidation and shame I feel for even asking, “Can I take the elevator?”

He’d already turned back to the CCTV, so when his head snaps back around to me I self-consciously pull the t-shirt over my lower body trying to hide the evidence of what we just did.

His eyes sweep over me. I turn before I can see his expression of triumph or disdain. I know I can’t bear it.

He brushes past me. “Come.”

Following his longer stride, I give a small prayer that I don’t drip our mingled releases all over the chevron floor and expensive rugs.

Thankfully we make it to the elevator without incident. In seconds I hear the ding and the door slides open. I hurry in. By the time I turn the door is already closing and I only get a glimpse of his retreating back.

Shiftingthe gears of my car I take the roads to my estate at a reckless speed.

Kill him. Kill him. Dismember him like we did Dr. Sagamo. Hesnarls.

If it were up to me Thaddeus Love would be in a ditch somewhere. Again, I have been overruled by my brother, cousin, and of course FADE and Ghadi Carrington due to their close relationship with him through FADE’s wife Delightful being his cousin. Akchiro surprises me most when he had no problem with Avunculicide, with our father and other two uncles and retribution in their complicity of his own father’s death.

Kiyoshi is enamored though he denies with his little chef, and killing the little motherfucker would be inconvenient but even he is losing patience with the situation. His punishment of Krie Love is not having the desired effect.

The problems with Creative Chaos continue. We are having a full-blown insurrection and it is getting worse every day. Thanks to him and Maria Shelby, also off-limits because she’s under the protection of Angel Cruz a business associate of ours.

Pulling onto the path that leads to my underground garage I floor it. New York was three and a half days ago. This is the longest I have ever been able to keep myself away from her. Making it four was impossible. I barely got through the day without saying fuck it and coming home early. Unheard of and sure not to go unnoticed by my brother and the rest of our team.

I’m consumed with this woman. I need to touch her, feel those lush curves under me.

I waited as long as possible and still my excuse about going home to work rather than have dinner with them at The Camellia was looked at with speculation. For my brother’s part I’m sure he thinks I’m trying to devise a plan to rid ourselves of this meddlesome activist. If only it were so simple. No. I have an entirely different Love to contend with.

“Yes,” I depress the call from my home staff.

“Dinner is ready, would you like us to plate or wait until you get home,” my butler, Hiru, says over the line.

“I’m pulling up now,” I tell him pausing as the garage door slides back into the wall allowing me access. Lights of my subterranean garage illuminate the space. I pull beside a diamond black G-Wagon parking my car. Getting out I toss the keys to an attendant heading straight to my room.

As I enter, I notice a set of clothes has been laid out as I dry myself from the shower. Bypassing the dinner dress pants and shirt I opt for a more comfortable set of joggers and t-shirt and hoodie. I’ve had a long, hard ass day. I don’t want anything confining me. Pulling on my clothes with an embarrassing amount of haste for a man who deliberately stayed away fromhis own wife for days on end, I force myself to slow down to a less eager pace as I make my way up the levels to Taylor’s room.

Opening the door without any preamble I take in the darkened room, irritation eating along my nerves. The door to the garden is open. I gave permission for her to be allowed to go there whenever she asks. I push down the recrimination that she shouldn’t have to.

She’s lucky to be alive, Hehisses malice etched in each word.

“Feelings still hurt from being smashed upside the head?” I murmur, heading out following her scent more than anything. It draws me like bait on a fishing line.

Fairy lights greet me. Dusk has descended. The garden is beautifully lit. I can hear the babbling of the water and the koi jumping as they eat their time dispensed food.

The smells of lotus and jasmine mix with the camellias and buttercups indigenous to the area. The bouquet is unique and alluring just like the woman I see sitting in a new kimono robe on the little bench. Her beauty makes me catch my breath as I see her curled up deliberately looking away from me.
