I smiled at them both. “I’m certain. I love him.”

His shoulders slumped. “If he hurts you.”

“I know.”

“God or not,” he said with promise. “I’ll find a way to kick his ass.”

Dora rolled her eyes. “He wouldn’t hurt Elle.”

Edmund smirked. “You always did have a soft spot for him.”

“He’s a good boy,” she said, conviction in her tone. “He did right by all of us.”

“She’s right,” I said.

Edmund nodded begrudgingly. “Maybe I’m not ready to let you go yet. You’ll always be my little girl.”

“You’ll always be my favorite man. Just don’t tell Raiden,” I joked. Bells sounded from the temple. Cold prickled my hands and feet. “It’s time.”

Edmund held his arm out for me to take. “We’ll go together.”

Dora moved for the door. “I’ll see you both out there.”

The aisle felt miles long as hundreds of stares followed me, but when he looked at me, everyone else melted away. I reached the front, and he took his hands in mine. Maddox stood by his side as his best man, and Naomi at mine. Edmund handed me off.

“Holy fuck.” Raiden looked me up and down, a burning in his stare.

Maddox rolled his eyes from the stand. “Only you’d say that on your wedding day.”

Alma cleared her throat to begin the marriage vows. I couldn’t take my eyes off him as our immortal promises were exchanged.

He slipped the white-gold ring, glistening with an emerald skull surrounded by tiny black roses, onto my finger.

“Do you take Eleanor Moore, Goddess of the Hunt, to be your wife until the end of your worldly time?”

“Forever,” he said almost instantly.

I placed a black skull ring on his finger. “I do too.”

His lips were gentle when he kissed me, his nose bumping against mine. “I love you so much.”

I breathed heavily, my chest heaving as I looked up at Raiden. He’d been through so much hurt that I only wanted to heal his heart, to show him every day how he was loved and deserved love. Together, we were going to change things, feel alive in a mortal world, and bring some real good to Istinia by showing them a god and goddess who cared.

“Always,” I promised, then kissed my husband.

The End.

Raiden tilts his head, those bedroom eyes drinking me in as he stands at the foot of our bed. “Are you ready for bed, my wife?”

I’ve been waiting all day to be alone with him. “I want to ruin you this time,” I say, smirking. I pushed my fingers against Raiden's chest, guiding him back until he reached the bed. Lowering us both, with my newfound strength, I climb on top of him. “Strip,” I command, and his eyes alight with surprise.

“Gods, Elle, I am the luckiest man.”

Lingering my lips against his, I whisper, “I said, strip.”

He leans closer, silently inciting me to delve my tongue deeper as our lips brush. I hold for a moment, then pull back and he moans. He shrugs his pants down, as I slowly unbutton his shirt, until he is naked beneath me.
