“Coming up,” Riggio replied. “Take a seat at the bar. Robert was finishing up a meeting.”

Meeting. Sure. He chided himself for jumping to conclusions, but Robert worked for the FBI. He doubted the man would be at the club having a meeting about anything unless it had something to do with BDSM. The idea turned his stomach and he regretted ordering anything to drink. He murmured his thanks when Riggio handed him the cold bottle.

“So, what do you do, Will?” Riggio leaned against the bar.

“I’m the assistant curator of the Tampa Bay Museum of Art,” he answered.

Riggio whistled. “Fancy. So you went to college then for that?”

Will stared at the man. He couldn't decipher whether the guy was teasing him or if he was genuinely curious. So, he went with curious. "Yeah, I went to Florida State University. I have a Master's in Art History and a Bachelor's in Archeology."

Riggio whistled. “You’re smart to boot.”

Will shrugged. “Suppose so.”

“You’re not a talker are you?”

Will slid his gaze toward the big man. “Sometimes.” Truth was, he had to fight the urge to run screaming from the building. “Today, not so much.”

"I got you." The man nodded. "I'm not the most approachable of guys." He motioned to himself. "This is quite intimidating."

Will snorted a laugh and relaxed marginally. “Something like that for sure.”

“You have a great laugh, too.” When Will gaped at him, Riggio lifted his hands in placation. “It’s a compliment. Not a come-on. Swear. Besides, Robert only has eyes for you, and I don’t poach.”

Will didn’t know what to say, so he went with the obvious. “You’re gay then?”

He shook his head. “Bi and a switch.”

Interesting. “So you don’t have a Dom either, then?”

“No. I kind of like being the lone wolf around here. But, I will occasionally play. I get to forget about everything, you know? Let go for a while. Unwind. After the shit I’ve seen, I need that release.”

Will frowned. “I wouldn’t know. The last time I tried this, it didn’t go so well.”

“That’s fucked. At least you haven’t given up yet, that’s a good thing,” Manic replied.

Maybe, Will still had his reservations. However, talking to the big guy did unlock some of the tension filling his frame. “We’ll see.” He wouldn’t agree or disagree. For all he knew, Robert might be like Mathias.Don’t even go there. They’re nothing alike.Maybe. Robert hadn’t attempted to play with him, nor had he invited anyone into their scene.

I don’t share.

The minute Will flinched when Robert asked about sharing, the agent had pounced. At first, he thought Will wanted to be the meat between the bread, so to speak, but no. The thought sent a thread of dread down his spine. The anxiety leaving him a trembling mess had been dispelled by three little words, however, and like now, he wondered if Robert had told him the truth. At some point, you're going to have to trust someone. Will realized that. But, did it mean putting his faith in Robert?

I should go home.

Will stood. “I think I?—”

A flash of movement by the staircase caught his attention. There he stood—Robert. The blue cashmere sweater was stretched across his broad chest, molding him perfectly. He wore a pair of dress slacks and dress shoes.Did he not ride his bike to work? The sleeves of the sweater were pushed up, exposing his sinewy forearms. The man strode toward him with purposeful strides, exuding power and sex appeal. A knowing smirk tugged at the corner of Robert's mouth and Will didn't know if he wanted to kiss it off of him or slap it off. Robert's blue eyes were hardened, laser-focused on Will and where he stood.

He couldn’t move.Is this how deer feel when they’re hit with headlights from an oncoming car?His fingers twitched. His heart raced. Every inch of him was poised to run, however he stayed rooted in place. Beside him, Riggio chuckled. Will licked his bottom lip and the smirk on Robert’s mouth turned into a full-on feral grin. His gait changed to that of an animal stalking its prey. He was a wolf and poor little Will was the rabbit. What am I going to do?

“Thank you, Manic,” Robert said as he approached. “I can take it from here.”

“As you wish, boss.” Riggio turned to Will. “Have fun, you lucky son of a bitch.”

His lingering chuckle had Will shivering. He couldn’t take his eyes off of Robert. The man didn’t move. He didn’t close the distance between them. He was content to stare at Will. Will squirmed under Robert’s attention. His gaze dripped lust and debauchery. Fuck, Will was in over his head. He shouldn’t have come. He didn’t have the answer Robert wanted. Nor did he think he ever would. Nevertheless, he couldn’t stay away. The magnetic pull between them wouldn’t be denied. He’d felt it on the dance floor, the way their bodies melded together. The sway of Robert’s hips. The way the heat of his palm seared Will’s skin.

Robert branded Will.
