Robert rubbed his chin and added. “Not necessarily a bad thing.”

Benjamin smirked. “Nope. If the Commander gives a nudge or helping hand, I’m not going to complain, as long as those responsible for stealing the artwork end up behind bars.”

Good, they were all on the same page.

Robert leaned back in his seat, trying to get comfortable. It was next to impossible as the seats were stiff and the leather hard. Eventually, he was able to close his eyes and think about the long-ass day. His mind, hell his body had run a gambit of emotions and stressors from the day. The best part had been having Will in his arms and feeling his surrender.

Normally he didn’t purse subs, they came to him. Deep down, his gut said he’d have to work long and hard to get Will sorted. Truth be told, he was up for the challenge. He was kind of done with the subs who gave him what they thought he wanted instead of just being themselves.

Will was all about being a brat when he wanted to be. Robert’s dick jumped in anticipation of their next meeting. As it was, he planned to go home, snag a cold beer, get a hot shower, and spend some time reliving his memories from earlier when he had Will pinned to his office door. If everything went according to plan, he’d be jerking himself off thinking of Will before he fell into a much-needed night’s sleep.

Robert wokethe next morning groggy as fuck. By three, he began tossing and turning. The case had him in knots, but that didn’t seem to be the problem. Will, however, was. Every time he closed his eyes, all he could envision was the light brown-haired man who carried himself in a distinguished manner, but became a haughty tart the second Robert poked at Will’s boundaries. He was hot-blooded. Full of vim and vigor. Robert couldn’t wait to get his hands on the man.

Unfortunately, the case came first.

As he sat at his desk drinking his morning coffee, he went over the information he'd collected the previous day. The case had an oddness to it. Usually, he could say, it was someone from within the museum who took the artwork, and then be done with the case. This time, they were missing something big. He could feel it in his gut. Thankfully, Duncan was going through the last few cases for them, which left him to start the re-interviewing process.

“You’re thinking too hard,” Benjamin said. “You need to get laid.”

Robert snorted. “How’s married life treating you?”

His partner chuckled. “She doesn’t have me on lockdown yet. We still have two weeks.”

“Might as well call it what it is,” Robert teased. “Before you know it, you’ll be a family man.”

Benjamin rolled his shoulders. “Better than being alone sometimes.”

Even if he hadn’t meant it, his comment stung. “Anyway, since Duncan’s doing the digging, I’m going to start reinterviewing everyone.” He handed Benjamin half the list of names. “You take those, and I’ll grab these. If I learn anything while I’m out, I’ll call you.”

“Sounds good. I noticed you took Will Ander’s name,” Benjamin said. “Any particular reason?”

“Nope.” He grabbed his coffee after standing. “The Lowe Art Museum and the Tampa Bay Museum of Art are the newest museums to be hit by our thieves. We should start with them, again. Then work backward, hence why I gave you Lowe and I took Tampa."

Benjamin eyed him speculatively. “Sure. You’re forgetting though, I saw how you looked at Will the night of my bachelor party.”

No. Robert hadn’t. “Touché.”

“Look, I’m not trying to bust your balls, man.” Benjamin lifted his hands. “I want to see you happy. I consider you my best friend, hell it’s why I chose you to be my best man. But, don’t let your personal feelings get involved in this case. It won’t end well for either of us.”

He had a point. Robert took another swallow of his coffee. “I won’t. We’ve been bested more than I want to contemplate when it comes to this case and I am tired of it. It’s time we start fighting back.”

“Glad to hear it.” Benjamin grinned. “Call me if you hear anything new from Will.”

Robert grunted. “Same from Rebecca or any of the other names on your list.”

Benjamin answered him with a lift of his hand before exited the area. The drive to Tampa would take an hour, which gave Robert plenty of time to come up with some questions. Then it hit him. He should have asked before now. Did the museums do anything together? Events? Fundraisers? Did they share exhibits?I’m an idiot.Because the heists were done in clusters the robberies could coincide with events. He pulled his phone out of his pocket then sent a text to Duncan.

Famosa: Check dates. See if any coincide with events.

Duncan: On it. Anything else?

Famosa: I'll let you know after the interviews.

He stepped out into the fall air and frowned. Storm clouds had gathered. A small tropical disturbance twisted out in the gulf causing the air to grow murky and the humidity to rise. Forecasters were calling for the storm to hit sometime within the next few days, where though was an uncertainty. He hopped onto his bike and started it, then pulled out of the parking lot. Hopefully, by the time he was done with his interviews, he’d have more leads to track down and a little bit more information to build a better case.

Will sat at his desk going over the finishing touches for the museum event. After his day with Robert, he realized a few things about himself. One, he was in desperate need of getting laid, and two, he was in way over his head with Robert. The man unleashed something inside of Will. He became this sassy guy who enjoyed seeing what would happen every time he opened his mouth. He also began to feel a rush of anticipation whenever Robert was around.A Gentleman Sadist. Will snorted. The title was a little too refined or posh for Robert, however it fit him.
