Then, as the flush rises up her chest, I grab the phone.

She tries to grab it back, panicked.

"Hey, Alex. Yeah, it's Kingsley. Luna's busy doing something for me right now. But fine, she'll be there at ten. I'll make sure of it myself. Bye now.

I hang up and throw down the phone over her head.

"He might get to see you at ten. But he doesn't get to hear you come."

She pushes down, taking more of me, squeezing me tight. Punishment for making her answer the phone. "You're crazy," she hisses.

I grab her around the waist and spin us around so she's on her knees, facing the mirror across the bed. My hands grab her throat from behind as I slam into her.

"I'm not. I've seen the way he looks at you," I snarl against her neck. "And I don't blame him, it's damn near impossible not to look at you like that. But when you're with him, no matter what he looks like looking at you, I want you to remember whatyoulook like when I'm coming inside you."

Kingsley's car screeches toa stop outside Hamilton headquarters two hours later, and he has a look on his face I haven't seen since the day of his run-in with Gerry.

"You sure you don't want me to come with you?"

"I can handle Alex."

"That's not how it looked that time you found out about Ernest's will."

I guess it was too much to hope that he would have forgotten it.

"That was a highly charged day. We've talked a lot since then..."

Darkness coasts over his tongue as well his eyes. "You didn't tell me that."

"I wasn't hiding anything, but the night I stayed at his place, we cleared up a few things."

He either doesn't look convinced, or doesn't want to be convinced. And to be honest, I'm not so sure either.

"Okay. Well... I can wait here if you want."

Yeah, Alex would really like that. I shake my head and gently touch his hand on the gear stick. "No, go back to work. I can't even imagine how much you're behind on something since you've been spending all your time with me."

"It's not wasted time, Moonshine. It's—"

A knock on the car door interrupts us.

We look out of my window to see Alex there. His expression is about as happy as Kingsley's.

"I'll be right out," I tell him.

"Tell him he can't park here," Alex says directly to me as if Kingsley isn't sitting right there glaring at him through my window.

"Maybe I should just run him over," Kingsley mutters under his breath.

"Kingsley!"

"What? It was a joke. I make those now, remember?" he grins at me. "You better go before someone else has the same idea that I have and hits him with their car. Hey, what are you going to tell him about us?"

I sit back, covering my face, sighing. "I don't know. What have you told your brothers about us."
