That doesn't stop him. "Luna. Please. God, I'm begging you. Just give me five minutes to explain."

Peeta springs up, almost knocking her head on the top bunk. "Wait? Is Moneybags the guy who broke your heart?"

"No. I didn't—" he starts, addressing her for the first time.

I turn over in the bed, jump to my feet and storm to the door

Hope flashes in his eyes for a second.

"Luna," he whispers my name.

Then I slam the door in his face.

And break down again, crying over Kingsley Baxter until it feels like I have no more tears inside me.

An hour later, Peeta is still lying with me on the bottom bunk, rubbing my back as I cry when the door opens.

"Get out!" she yells towards the door. "Oh. Sorry. I thought it was someone else."

"Hey, are you Luna?" a girl comes in flinging her bag onto the top bunk.

"Who's asking?" Peeta barks, protectively.

"There's a really hot older guy out there asking everyone about her. I mean, I offered to change my name to Luna, but he basically growled at me and looked at me like I was vermin."

Even through my tears I can't help but chuckle at that.

That's Kingsley alright. That's the Kingsley I know and...

And then the pain strikes, like a branding iron through the heart.

Maybe it's not the Kingsley I know at all.

Not the Kingsley who knew, whoknew, I had trust issues, just like he had. The one who knew that I hated feeling watched, hating not having my privacy, that it had colored my entire relationship with my father.

Only to turn around and... another sob goggles out of my chest.

"What do you want me to say about him? You want me to go out there and kick his ass?" Peeta offers.

"No, he's six feet four, and I've seen him fight off a mugger with a knife."

She scoffs. "Please, I eat muggers for breakfast."

I laugh. I believe that she does, to be honest.

"No, he'll get bored and eventually leave."

"Yeah, I don't think he will," the new girl says, tugging her minidress over her head, revealing a bikini top and a skimpy pair of shorts. "But, I'm going to go out there and see if I can't try to forget this Luna girl."

She checks her reflection in the mirror before skipping out of the room, leaving the door open in her wake of cheap deodorant.

"I almost feel sorry for him." Peeta coughs dramatically from the scent.

"I wouldn't. He can take care of himself."

"She looked pretty determined."

"That actually makes it even funnier," I chuckle, imagining Kingsley's face when he sees her approaching him in a bikini in the middle of a hostel. "I almost want to go out and watch."
