I stand.

"Mr. Chairman and esteemed members of the board, I would like to start today’s proceedings by inviting Luna Pham into the board room.”

Chaos ensues.

Leonard bangs on his gavel, calling for order.

"Kingsley, that's most most extraordinary, considering the circumstances.”

I nod. "It is because these are exceptional circumstances that I ask that Miss Pham be invited to the meeting, as I believe she has information that is pertinent to the allegations regarding me. She will not be present for any other Baxter business.”

Leonard considers my request and then nods. "Please ask Miss Pham to come inside”

I nod to Damien who gets up and opens the door, quietly inviting Luna to come in.

Luna steps into the board, eyes wide, face pale. I didn’t prepare her for this because I wanted her to appear as genuine as she can. And to not worry about her answers in case she was worried about how they might affect me.

"Miss Pham, thank you both for taking the time out today to be here. I've asked you to be here today because, as you know, you are embroiled in an internal and also public issue of Baxter Enterprises and I ask you to come here to help clear up a few details.

Miss Pham, I would like to inform you that everything you say in the room during this meeting will be recorded for the official board meeting minutes. So, I entreat you to answer these questions to you as truthfully as you can.” I give her a reassuring nod and she takes a deep breath and returns the nod. “Miss Pham, regarding your response to the article published in Commerce Insider, you stated that you and I are not in a romantic relationship. Can you please state for the record the current status of our relationship?”

She frowns and looks to me for guidance.

"As truthfully as you can, please, Miss Pham," I remind her.

"Um, we are currently in a romantic relationship."

"And Miss Pham, since we have been together, have I shared privileged information with you about The Lakes contract, specifically, details about the Baxter bid."

She looks nervous as she nods. "Yes. You did. You used the bid to help me understand how to put together a submission."

"Yes. And finally, Miss Pham. As you stated in your response, did you at any time share this information with any employees at Farmington, Inc., or The Hamilton Group?"

She stops.

Please trust me, Luna. Trust me.

"Miss Pham? If you wouldn’t mind answering the question, please."

She takes a deep breath. "No. No, I didn’t."

There’s instant chatter around the table.

"She lies!" Gerry hisses, jumping to his feet. "She said she did in her response!"

"Order!" Leonard bellows. When quiet is returned, he sits back down.

"Kingsley, please continue."

"Miss Pham, I’m going to ask you one last time, for the record, did you share the information with Alex Hamilton of The Hamilton Group about the Baxter Enterprises bid?"

"No. I didn’t."

"Then why did you say you did?"

She closes her eyes for a moment. "Because I thought I was protecting Mr. Hamilton."

Gerry stands, hissing, as he points at her. "Do we really have to sit here and listen to these lies? We can't believe a word she says. She’ll say anything to save his ass. She said it herself, they’re in a relationship. She’s lying."
