“You planted the idea of him supporting her career? Well, perhaps give him another push. What if you pointed out a dinosaur bone that would be a good gift to show he’d support her career nowadays.”

“That would be far too blatant,” Sebastian shook his head. “He never actually told me about her interest in dinosaurs.”

Louisa pushed her plate away and stood up. There was a stack of magazines on one of her bookshelves and now she rifled through them, trying to find what she was looking for.

“In here,” she muttered, picking up an auction catalog she’d been sent a few days ago. She skimmed through to find the right page, until she found a glossy photo of the skull of a T. rex.

“Fossils, you know, are having a bit of a moment.”

She held the catalog out to him as he chuckled. “I had no idea. People buy these?”

“Mm, I was thinking about getting a few for the gallery, but I don’t think my usual clients would be interested in it. That one is expected to go for over 5 million.”

Sebastian looked between her and the photo in quick surprise. “I suppose it does make rather a statement if you have that in your office. Scare your employees into submission.”

Louisa leaned over to flip to the next page, which had photos of smaller skulls, and less identifiable bones. These ones were much cheaper, although less striking.

“You could say you’re the one interested in it. And since Theo never told you that she loves dinosaurs, he won’t suspect you’re up to anything.”

“I could take him to the auction. When is this one?” He flipped to the front of the catalog.

“Next week,” Louisa said.

Sebastian hummed before closing the catalog. “Alright. I’ll take him to the auction, but I’m not sure this is much of a step forward.”

“It’ll get him thinking about her.”

Louisa picked up their empty plates and took them back to the kitchenette. By the time she came back, Sebastian had tidied up her desk, the papers of the report had been tucked back into the file, which was the only thing left on her desk. Sebastian himself was standing, leaning back on her desk.

“I have such a long afternoon ahead of me, too many meetings with some very tedious people,” Sebastian complained.

“Quit,” Louisa said, knowing how much he enjoyed his work. “I’ll give you a job here.”

“You don’t know how tempting that is,” he said, putting his hands on her waist and pulling her close. “Working late tonight?”

They didn’t officially live together, but she was at his apartment every night, she had a key and the doorman greeted her like an old friend.

“No,” she said, running her hand up his chest.

“Good, I was thinking we should go away this weekend,” Sebastian put his face against her neck, nuzzling her skin where she was particularly sensitive.

“Really?” she shivered, leaning into him and tilting her head to give him more access to her neck.

He bit her gently, and then, barely lifting his head, he answered her question. “We could fly to my place in Maine, I haven’t taken you there in months. Or maybe somewhere hot, Miami, or Mexico.” He bit her again, sending a shiver of sensation all the way down her spine. Louisa didn’t like to be marked during the work week, at least, not where it was visible, but it was Friday afternoon and, with her hair down, it wouldn’t be visible.

“Bite harder, give me something to press my finger into while I work this afternoon.”

Sebastian nipped at her, making her wonder how he could work her body so well. She moaned softly, clutching at him through his suit jacket and feeling him harden against her.

He pushed her back with a frustrated sound.

“You make it hard to leave.”

Louisa glanced down at his crotch with a smirk, and the bulge in his tailored pants.

“Tonight,” she teased.
