What was he hiding from me? I continued to wonder as I watched him taste his soup and then tear a piece of Italian bread and eat it. Was he just like his brother, Nico, and I wanted to see something different in him, and couldn’t because of the blinders I’d placed on my own eyes? Families like the Bonettis were violent and highly lethal, and that blood coursing through both Nico and Dante could be like a compound that ignited and destroyed everything and everyone around them.

I had to decide whether I wanted to be in their area when everything blew up. “You aren’t eating, baby. Eat something. I have plans for you now that we’re engaged, and you’re officially mine.

Dante was falling into his gay life easier than I thought.

“I never thought you’d ever love a man. When I agreed to go with Nico, it was to be near you. I didn’t think I had what it took to be with a straight man. And at some point I didn’t, because the moment I saw a woman near you, I didn’t rationalize that she could be a friend. I saw lover. I just wanted to see things in black and white and choose the easier choice.”

“You’ll discover the easier answers are always wrong. I learned that in one of my classes, and don’t ask me which one or what theory it came from. It was twenty years ago.” Dante was trying to convince me of something, but what I didn’t know.

After we ate, I had my ring, a promise of marriage and a threat of fucking me until I couldn’t walk for a week, but I got everything but the threat, because we fell asleep naked with me in Dante’s arms and his palm on my balls and when I woke, there was a note on my pillow.

Good morning, baby.

When you wake, order breakfast and call me and I’ll join you. Daddy has to work to pay for a honeymoon, an expensive ring, a new sports car for you, an apartment I bought you as a wedding gift, and the clothing that will be arriving shortly.”

Love you, Rome, because ‘I’ll do anything for love.’

Dante

I smiled and reached for the house phone and ordered breakfast for two, coffee and expresso for Dante. I hurried to take a shower and when I reached for my robe, the door buzzed. “Wow, that was quick. I’m liking this already,” I murmured.

When I opened the door, two men barged into the room. “What do you want?” I questioned, not accepting this could be more than it appeared, but when one dude placed duct tape over my mouth, that was when I woke up to my reality and turned and ran to the phone, but one caught me, threw me to the floor, put his knee on my back where I couldn’t move and the other man tied my arms. Oh shit this is real, I thought.

“We’re going to take him just like this.”

“He’s not dressed.”

“Do you want to take the time to dress him. Do you see how he’s moving around? We don’t have the time. Dante could be back soon with his bodyguards. Throw him in the laundry basket and let’s get the fuck out of here.”

Trying to resist, twisting and turning slowed them down, but not much. Then they taped my feet and my movement was restricted. They taped my ankles together, and tossed me like a sack into the laundry basket. And that was that. The end to my fighting back.

Lying under mounds of dirty sheets, my first thought wasn’t how to get out of here and who the fuck were these dudes and whether they were going to kill me or not, it was what the fuck. These were dirty sheets and I could get sick if I stayed in here too long.

I wasn’t in the basket for long when I was tossed in a van like a sack of garbage. The van started up immediately, doors closed and drove away where and with whom I didn’t know.

I listened for sounds and heard the men’s voices. “Did you place the kidnap note on the bed?”

“Yeah I did.” These were professionals, I surmised. I hoped their demands weren’t in the stratosphere because I would be a dead man if Dante depended on Nico to give him the money to pay it off.

The End to Book 2

Book 3 Dante: I’m No Gentleman coming soon!

Below is an excerpt from “Dark Promises” Book 1

To cover up his nervousness, Cole said, “I’ll have another beer.” Daniel’s gaze paused for a second taking in Cole’s expression and body which was smaller than his. So far Cole had shown Daniel his need for a strong commanding man, and desire to be possessed, and he’d come to the right place because he was who Daniel was looking for, and his facial expression sent the signal to Cole that there was a dark promise he could fulfill.

Daniel’s eyes wavered and perused Cole and appeared to be stuck on Cole’s nervous biting of his bottom lip. Daniel’s intense glance caused Cole to become anxious. He’d come this far, and he was ready to explore the notion of being in a stranger’s office when he just locked the door, which made Cole shudder with desire. Daniel planted his firm body against Cole’s slim firm muscular frame.

To Cole’s surprise and perhaps because of his wanton desire to be fucked by a stranger, he thought it was his body that leaned forward to answer Daniel that they were both after the same thing—a one-night stand that wouldn’t soon be forgotten by either man.

“I thought you were going to get me a drink?” Cole said more relaxed.

“It can wait.” Daniel’s raw intense eyes bored into him with a heated gaze. Cole knew what he wanted because he wanted the same thing. He wanted to be used. He wanted to be taken and not be able to walk the next few days because he wanted to remember that feeling for months to come. He needed the excitement of knowing he’d been taken by a stranger and then he could go on and live his life knowing he’d done what he wanted for once.

“Are you going to take off that tee and let me see your chest, those stiff nubs?” Cole glanced down, but before Cole could lift his tee, Daniel’s large hand was under his shirt, and pinching one of his nipples with his vise-like fingers. Cole held his gaze on the stranger with a shiver of excitement pumping through his cock.
