He blinked. “I put you in danger.”

“You saved me from hell. Who knows what Viper would have done to me.”

“I dragged you into things you had no business being involved in.” He rolled onto his back and slung his forearm over his eyes.

Wren’s heart flexed. Leaning over him, she struggled to find a way to soothe the beast inside her man—the one that was telling him that he’d screwed up and damaged her somehow.

“Jennings, you kept me safe the entire time. You told me to trust you. You knew what you were doing.”

“I should have gotten you out of here. When that asshole had his hands on you in the plane—” he broke off, throat working.

She touched his arm. “Is that what this is about?”

He tore his arm off his eyes. The dark depths blazed with fury she was sure he directed at himself. “Yes, goddammit. I fucked up. I thought I was keeping you close so you wouldn’t get hurt. Then they took you out of the house and put you on that plane. Fucking bullets were spraying everywhere. You could have been killed!”

“But I wasn’t.” She leaned in to nuzzle him.

“Dammit. My brothers are right. I make bad decisions. I take the dangerous route every time.”

She shook her head, rubbing her nose against his. “Absolutely wrong. You did everything right. You infiltrated a motorcycle club and flew under their radar for months. Tonight the FBI honored Sentry because of you.”

He dragged in a deep breath and let it out slowly.

“Plus…you got the girl.”

He looked at her. The blazing passion in the depths of his eyes urged her forward. She climbed on top of him and kissed him even as she slid over his hard erection.

When they began to move, the heat of love fueled them. The emotions built in her chest and he took the lovemaking even higher by staring deep into her eyes.

She curled her toes and tossed back her head as another orgasm hit. Jennings poured his cum into her again and again until they lay spent in each other’s arms.

He trailed his fingertips over her spine. “How much time will it take you to finish med school?”

“I only have to complete my residency.”

“And you can do that anywhere, right?”

She met his gaze. “Yes. Why?”

“I was hoping we could stay right here. East Canon isn’t much. It’s rundown. There are no jobs and people are suffering, but—”

“That’s all the more reason for me to stay. I’ve always wanted to do good in the world. I can serve in a community that needs good healthcare. That excites me. Plus, my brother will be getting out of rehab soon. I want to be here for him when he does. Besides…I kind of fell in love with your Sentry family as well. I want to be here for Lark and Dove and Avalynn. I want to meet their babies and be the favorite aunt.”

He chuckled, drawing her closer into the wreath of his arms. “And when do I get to give you a child too?”

Her jaw dropped. “You want that?”

He nodded. “I came from a bigger family. I want to have one of my own. If you do, that is.”

She kissed him with a tender brush of her lips across his. “I do.”

“Then we better practice some more.” He rolled her into the covers and took control until she was gasping out his name and all the love in the world burned between them.

Epilogue

Jennings missed the wind in his hair and the feel of Wren on the back of his Harley. He missed her arms around him and seeing her in his helmet.

Even better was helping his pregnant wife out of their new car.
