“This house is for sale, Wren.”

She whipped around to look at him. “What are you saying?”

“I looked at the property yesterday.”

Her jaw dropped.

“I only wanted to check it out in case it was a good option for us. For our family.” He covered her growing belly with his palm. Beneath the skin, their child moved against his hand, filling him with emotion.

“Oh, Jennings…”

“You don’t have to agree. I just wanted to put it out there because you know I’m preoccupied with something, and this is weighing on my mind.”

She twisted back to look at the house. Without a word, she walked right up on the porch and peered in the tall window flanking the door.

The future slammed him in a rush of images. Wren sitting on a porch swing, their children surrounding her and in her lap. Love in her eyes when she glanced up at him…

She whirled from the window, and her expression wore that same burning love that he envisioned. “When can we look at it together? Today?”

A laugh burst past his lips. He shouldn’t be surprised at her excitement, but it warmed him so much.

He moved forward to take her in his arms. She curled against him, and he tucked her close. “I’ll call the owner tomorrow and set up a time. But baby, are you sure? We’d be neighbors to the Livingstons.”

“I love them both so much! They’re like family to us.”

He brushed his lips over her brow. “Maybe you don’t want to stay in East Canon after you get your degree.”

She cupped his jaw. “Silly man. Home is where you are. I love this place. I love your team and their families. I love that you’re thinking about our future, Jennings.”

He gently pinched her chin and drew her lips up to his. “I loveyou.”

She wrapped her arms tighter around him. He may not have her on the back of his bike, but he had her forever.

The tender kiss they shared quickly turned hotter. She rubbed against him, and he grabbed her ass, hitching her tighter against his growing erection.

“Mmm. Maybe we should try out that porch railing. Or maybe the side of the house?”

She issued a laugh, but it was throaty enough to tell him that she was affected by their closeness too. “I think that will have to wait until after the housewarming party.”

“Speaking of that…we should get back to Livingston’s.”

Wren pressed her lips against his again. “I love you, Jennings. Thank you for making me a happy woman.”

He nuzzled her. “You’re my life now. You and our son.” He palmed her belly.

“He still needs a name.”

“I was thinking Otto.”

She shook her head. “Here we go again with your name suggestions.”

He grinned. It had become a running joke between them where he threw out names and she shot them all down.

“Boris.”

She bit down on her lower lip. “I don’t think so.”

“Cletus.”
