“I’m so nervous.”
“To marry Pike? If you’re nervous, shouldn’t you call off the wedding?” Onyx asked, making me roll my eyes. “You can marry me, right now. I’ll just stand in Pike’s place.”
My friends giggled.
He winked at me and I smiled. I was thankful for his silliness today. I wasn’t nervous to marry Pike, but I was nervous to have all of these people watching us.
I trembled as Emily secured my necklace around my neck.
“It’s going to be okay. We’re all here with you,” Rouge, Emily’s sister, reminded me. I was so excited she was here. I hoped we could talk her into staying in Strickland.
I nodded. “Yeah, it’s gonna be fine.”
I gave a grimace as I trembled again. It felt like the butterflies in my belly were trying to play volleyball.
“How about something to drink?” Axel asked.
“Please?” Maybe that’s what was wrong. I hadn’t eaten breakfast because of nerves so maybe I was just shaky from that.
Axel kissed my forehead, totally smearing Rouge’s hard work, and left the dressing room.
“Let’s sit down,” Emily suggested.
Reagan rushed a chair to where I was and I took a seat. Emily fanned me with a folder. I was actually very warm. What was happening?
“Hey, Bitty Baby,” Pike cooed as he knelt in front of me. He cupped my face in his big hands.
I leaned into his touch. Instantly, my heart stopped hammering in my chest.
“Shhh, you’re okay,” he soothed. “Look at me, Bitty.”
I met his gaze. “Take some breaths with me, okay?”
I nodded.
We worked on my breathing together. I didn’t feel as dizzy after a few minutes.
“Are you feeling a little better now?” Pike asked. His pinched brow and growly voice made my clit throb. He was so damn sexy.
I nodded again.
“I need some words, baby. You looked like you were about to pass out on us.”
“I feel better now, I think I was just a little nervous.”
“Alright, everyone, give us some room and clear out.” Axel barked as he carried some water bottles in.
I looked from Pike to him. “What are you doing?”
“Look at me, baby. I want to make sure you’re okay.”
I met his eyes again.
“You too, Barbie Badass,” Axel said. I peeked around Pike to see him pointing to Rouge.
She cocked an eyebrow at him and put her hand on her hip. “Are you okay if I step out, Dallas?”
“Y-yes, I’m fine.”
