The woman turned to face him fully, still bundled in the sleeping bag, and inched forward until she straddled his lap. “Yes, you’re where you belong too.” She touched her lips to his, shutting out the rest of the world. “Want to go back to my house for a shower and breakfast?”

“Nothing has ever sounded better.” He could do this every morning—look into Tess’s eyes first thing, kiss her lips, secure in the fact that he’d held her all night long.

“Then let’s get a move on.” Tess scrambled out of the sleeping bag and got to her feet.

Silas pulled on his shirt and then quickly followed suit, helping her pack up.

They rode down the mountain in about half the time it had taken them to ride up to the meadow the day before. Back at the ranch, they led the horses into the stables and swiftly unloaded everything, making sure the horses had plenty of hay and water before finally stepping inside the house.

“Now Ireallyneed a shower.” Tess tugged on his shirt, pulling him down the hall with her.

“Yes.” That was all he could say. Yes, to everything. He kissed her while he fumbled with the hem of her sweatshirt, only pulling back to yank it off over her head and discover a thermal shirt underneath. “You’re wearing layers,” he whined.

Tess laughed. “Come here.” She tugged on the waistband of his jeans, guiding him into the bathroom before shoving his pants down his hips. Moving his lips down her neck, Silas managed to get the extra shirt and her bra off. She took over then, gasping as she wrestled out of her leggings and underwear.

“Too many clothes,” she complained, tossing them aside.

“Way too many.” He turned on the shower and then hastily put on a condom before going back to Tess and dancing her into the shower.

“I like showering with you.” She faced him and wrapped her arms around him, the warm water and the feel of her glistening silky skin making him moan.

“I could make youloveshowering with me.” Silas kissed his way down her neck, moving his lips over her perfect breasts while he trailed his fingers across her hip and along the front of her thigh before touching her with teasing strokes.

Tess’s breathing grew rapid with little whimpers sneaking out. “Don’t make me wait,” she whispered. “Ican’twait. I need you right now.”

“I need you too.” Silas lifted her knee level with his hip and worked his way inside of her, taking his time to kiss her again, to feel their connection.

“More. Give me more. Everything. All of you.” Her breaths were as ragged as his were.

“Yes.” He was done holding back. Silas urged her to move with him, feeling her all around him, bringing him deeper before he backed out in a long, fluid motion.

“Yes, like that,” Tess panted. “Oh, Silas. Yes, Silas.”

Hearing the sound of his name on her lips loosened his control. He moved deeper, pulling her to him while his hand caressed her butt. The rhythm of their bodies together drove him closer to losing control, but he tensed against the pull.

“I can’t… I can’t…” Tess didn’t finish her sentence before crying out and clinging to him. God. One more push and his body let go, riding wave after wave of pleasure until he was spent.

Trying to slow his breathing, he let his head tip forward onto Tess’s shoulder.

“Okay. Iloveshowering with you,” she said breathlessly.

“Not as much as I love showering with you.” He held her while they rinsed off together, trailing kisses along her neck, her shoulders, her lips. “How about I go make us some breakfast?”

“Yes, please.” Tess sent him out of the shower with a slap on his butt.

After hastily drying off, Silas pulled on his underwear and headed for the kitchen. Wait… was he humming? He couldn’t remember the last time he’d hummed. Had he ever hummed? He wasn’t sure but he kind of liked it, so he kept up the humming while he mixed the pancake batter and heated a griddle over the stove.

“I’m starving.” Tess appeared, dressed only in a short robe, perfect for showing off her toned legs. “Nice of you to leave most of your clothes in the bedroom so I can have a good view while I eat.”

“I live to serve.” He poured the first batch of batter onto the griddle while Tess watched over his shoulder.

“Those smell amazing—”

The front door flew open and cut her off.

“Mom, we’re home!” Morgan bounded inside, followed by Aiden, Kyra, and Willow.

Silas froze next to Tess.
