If Sullivan keeps driving me to work, when can I sneak back in there?

God, I’m such a fucking pervert.

He wouldn’t sneak into my room. He’s a gentleman.

Or is he?

His ass presses against my hips. Somehow our bodies have aligned all the way down, my arm curved around his back.

It feels like when we were dancing, like the sensation doesn’t stop in my body but extends all the way through his hand. Two moving like one. The feeling is addictive—birds crave it. Butterflies, too. The invisible line between two living things…

My chin rests on his shoulder, his thick, black hair soft against my cheek.

All I can smell is his scent. If he turned his head, our mouths would meet…

I let go and take a step back, drawing in breath. It’s too hot in the kitchen; I’m getting dizzy.

Sullivan gazes at me with those deep, dark eyes.

I stepped back but not very far. I’m still close enough to see his black and tangled lashes and the bits of gold dancing in all that darkness. His face swoops closer while the rest of the kitchen blurs with steam. What steam? I don’t even have a pot boiling!

“You’re a good teacher.” His voice is low and husky. It has a texture, it rasps across my skin…

My heart is beating so hard, there’s no way he can’t hear it in the quiet kitchen, in the long silence stretching between us.

I say, “What are you doing?”

Sullivan tilts his head, smiling. “I’m not doing anything.”

“Yes, you are.”

He raises his eyebrows in a way that’s supposed to look innocent but doesn’t fool me for a second…I know he’s only amused.

“What am I doing?”

“You’re…”How can I say this without sounding stupid?“…cutting the tomatoes sexy.”

Yup. There it is.

Sullivan repeats it so I can hear from his lips just how stupid I sound:

“I’m…cutting the tomatoes sexy?”

I cross my arms over my chest.

“Yes.”

His lips twitch but he smothers the smile. “Why would I do that?”

“Because you like messing with me. You like knowing…”Say it, you pussy…“…that I’m attracted to you.”

Sullivan steps a little closer, dropping his chin slightly so we stare eye-to-eye.

“Well, that’s a problem, Theo. What are we going to do about this? Because I have to tell you…I’m attracted to you, too.”

What?

I suck in tiny, baby breaths.
