Instead of walking in the rain, we drove to the party. When we pulled up, there were cars everywhere. The music bumped from inside, shaking the windows. Even with the storm roaring outside, they partied inside. Nothing was standing in the way of their good time.

Zada hugged a girl standing by the front door as soon as we stepped inside, and then we found Reggie at the card table set up in the dining room. She took a drink when he handed it to her and downed half of it right away.

“You want something?” he asked.

I shook my head. “I’m good. Thanks, though.”

As usual, I found the nearest corner and stayed there. I watched the unsuspecting party-goers, wishing I could feel the same freedom I had found on the back of Aiken’s bike. Clutching my bag at my side, I felt for my bottle of pills just in case.

My knees ached from standing, and even though I had been watching for a long while, I still hadn’t seen Aiken anywhere. My mouth grew dry, so I went to the kitchen in search of something to drink.

Someone grabbed me as soon as I stepped into the kitchen. Massive arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me back into a solid chest.

I froze.

“Damn, girl, you’re looking good. What’s your name, baby?” a deep voice slurred in my ear.

I tried to speak, but nothing would come out. Horror struck me in the chest, and anxiety squeezed my heart so tightly the room spun. I tried to wiggle away, but that did nothing but push my ass into my captor.

“Damn, baby. That’s how you want to play?” he asked, his voice growing deeper. “You want to fuck?”

I gasped.

What was happening?

Where was Zada?

He reached up and cupped my breast, and I freaked out. I turned away and pressed my back against the wall so hard my shoulder blades ached.

He grinned at me as if I were playing a game with him. He was taller than me, his arms covered in tattoos with a septum piercing that made him look like an angry bull. His bald head shined under the kitchen lights, highlighting the sizeable black symbol on the side of his skull.

He moved closer, and I held my hands out to stop him.

“I appreciate the offer, but I have to pass.”

It was the nicest way I could think to say no.

Between what happened with Will and now with this stranger, I had a sudden urge to be invisible again.

“Then why were you pushing your ass into me like you wanted it?” he asked. His grin dropped from his face, and his brows pulled low in anger. “You’re just a fucking tease, huh?”

“Excuse me?”

Surely, he didn’t think I was trying to rub my ass into him or beg for sex. That was just ridiculous.

Did girls even do things like that?

“Girls come to these parties to get fucked. Why else would you be here?”

He was closer, and I felt my world shrinking as he slowly pinned me between him and the wall.

“I’m here with my friend. I should probably get back to her,” I said, sliding under his arm and readying myself to run.

Before I could get far, he grabbed me around my waist and slung me back. My head slammed into the wall, and the room began to swim in a haze of dizziness. He pushed into me, his massive hard body feeling foreign against mine. My nails dug into his shoulders as I pushed at him with all my strength, but he didn’t budge.

“That’s right. Fight me, baby. I like it rough,” he hissed into my ear.

I squeezed my eyes closed, and then the pressure of him disappeared. When I opened my eyes, black dots swam in my vision before it cleared. One second he was there, leaning into me and pressing his hard body into mine, and the next he was gone, and all I could see was Aiken’s back.
