Everything was going great, and the races were in full swing. The night was good, and I knew once Joker showed up and I cleared the air, I would be complete.

I pulled Tori into my arms, loving the warmth against me, but when I leaned down to kiss her, she turned away and gasped.

“What’s wrong?”

She frowned and shook her head. “Gracie’s here.”

That worked. We could deal with Gracie and Joker at the same place on the same night, killing two birds with one stone.

“Good. Let’s go talk to her.”

She pressed against my chest and kissed me on my chin. “You stay here in case the guys show up. I’ll deal with my little sister. I’ll be right back.”

I nodded, understanding she wanted to deal with her family alone. I pulled her in for a quick kiss before I released her, and she grinned at me before turning and walking away. My eyes dropped to her round ass, and I hummed to myself. Fuck, I was a lucky man, and I couldn’t wait to take her back to my place and enjoy her without worrying about Joker finding out. Before we left, our relationship was going to be public knowledge. Hell, except my boys, everyone at The Strip who saw us together already knew.

“Hey, Saint, you racing tonight?” Binx, a newbie at The Strip who was in by association, asked.

I nodded. “Yeah. I’ll be out there soon.”

I crossed my arms over my chest, leaning back against Stryker’s truck as I waited for my boys to come or Tori to return to my side. I lit a blunt, hitting it hard before I passed it to Stryker.

“Where the fuck is Crow and Joke?” he asked, exhaling the smoke above him.

He hit it again and passed it back.

“Hell, if I know,” I said, pulling out my phone, ready to text them and find out what the wait was about.

Before I could get the first word typed out, I heard the loud engines of my boys coming toward me. I cleared my screen and tucked my phone in my pocket. Taking another hit off my blunt, I saw Joker and Crow headed toward me. Then I scanned the crowd for Tori, hoping I could bring her back to my side. It was time to tell Joker everything, and I wanted her there when I did it.

I couldn’t find her, and my heart picked up, worry striking me in my center, making me stand taller. My eyes burned as I zoned in on different areas of The Strip until I finally found her. She stood in front of Donny B., and it looked like they were arguing.

I stiffened, not liking the way he glared down at her, and when he reached out and snatched her arm, pulling her close to him, I tossed my blunt and hauled ass toward them. Friend or not, he put his hands on my woman, and for that, he would pay.

IcrossedTheStriptoward my Gracie, unsure of what I would say. The last time we discussed The Strip and her not belonging, she turned it around on me. It was hard to tell her not to do something when I was doing it. Still, I had to do something. I couldn’t let Gracie fall in with the wrong crowd. She had too much potential to ruin it with drugs and the wrong friends.

She didn’t see me coming, but I watched her from afar. She was dressed differently, showing more skin than usual in cropped shorts and a top that left nothing to the imagination. I swallowed hard, wondering what kind of role model I had been when I left the house wearing something similar.

Her body was curvy, her waist tiny, and her hips wide, and as I scanned the area around her, it was apparent the men were looking. My anger spiked, wanting to rip their eyes out for looking at my baby sister with lust bleeding from their gazes. I picked up speed, jogging toward her instead of walking, and as I approached her, she finally noticed me.

Her eyes clashed with mine right before I reached her, and her shoulders tensed.

“Great. Here we go,” she muttered, running her fingers through her beautiful curls and rolling her bloodshot eyes.

She was on drugs, and I wondered how many times she was on something when she was around me, and I didn’t notice it. Gracie had made me promise to get a life, and I had, but getting my own life meant I hadn’t been paying enough attention to hers.

A group of girls around her snickered, and Gracie laughed with them as if they had an inside joke I wasn’t a part of. It hurt. Gracie and I had always been close, and I felt like an outsider looking at a total stranger.

“We talked about this,” I said, moving closer to her so her friends wouldn’t hear us.

She snorted. “No. You talked about it and expected me to listen. News flash, Tori, I’m not as perfect as you think.”

I swallowed the emotion clogging my throat. I had to remember she was high, and that was the reason she was being so mean to me, but it was hard.

“You’re on something. What did you take?” I asked, trying to remain calm.
