“Good. I’ll be right back.” Morgan smiled before she left the room, wet footprints marking every step she took, and Alex found her second wind.

The water was still hot. She pulled the plug and let some water out; otherwise there would be a flood with the pair of them in it.

There was no time to really contemplate what exactly Morgan had planned as she climbed in and sank down into the warmth, before Morgan was back, clutching two glasses, filled with ice and the amber liquid that Alex knew would be scotch.

Without a word, Morgan stepped back into the bath. Her feet on either side of Alex’s thighs, she lowered down to straddle her lap. One of the glasses, she placed onto the corner of the bath; the other she held to Alex’s lips and tipped until Alex took a sip.

“I’ve spent all day, waiting. All night, waiting, and do you know what I discovered?” Morgan asked Alex, allowing her another sip of the rather nice scotch.

Alex shook her head side to side slowly, enraptured by this awe-inspiring creature before her. Something was changing between them, something better, more intimate, and equal. And she liked it.

“I discovered that being on your arm, listening to you play with everyone around me in awe of you, gave me my own sense of euphoria, and a quickie in your dressing room did little to alleviate it. I was beyond aroused. Far beyond anything I’ve ever felt before with anyone, and yet, I was still prepared to wait.” She took a sip herself. “For you. And I did wait, and now, I don’t want to hear excuses or how exhausted you are. I want to feel your hands all over me. I want to feel you inside of me. I want to feel your tongue against my skin and in my mouth, licking and sucking me until I beg you to stop, and I don’t want you to stop. I want you to ruin me until I am nothing more than a quivering wreck, and then when you’re done, I want you to comfort me, and soothe me.” She reached into the water and found Alex’s hand, sliding it between the gap of her thighs. “Adagio.”

Chapter Thirty-Seven

Morgan did not enjoy the morning wake-up call or understand why it needed to be before ten in the morning, seeing as she hadn’t gotten any sleep before four, but alas, it wasn’t her decision.

“Hell,” Alex said quickly, jumping from the bed and pulling her robe on. “Morgan, quickly, you need to go to your room.”

“Ugh, seriously, can you just tell her not to wake you?” Morgan sat up and rubbed her face before she stood, naked, and walked out of the room.

Alex grinned at the sight of the bare backside, still a little red from earlier.

The banging continued, and Alex followed Morgan out, finding her already disappeared into the safety of her own room. Alex opened the door.

“What requires my attention this early and this loudly in the morning?” Alex said, holding the door open for Francine to stroll inside. She was clutching a pile of newspapers to her chest and grinning.

“So, someone is a little popular this morning.” Francine dropped the pile onto the table and fanned them out.

“What’s with the noise?” Morgan asked, yawning for good effect.

Newspapers were strewn across the coffee table. And from what Morgan could see, at least four had gone with an image ofSashaarriving at the concert, and of those, they all mentioned her date. Which was good news, according to Francine.

SASHA’S MEDICINEandHEARTSTOPPER FOR SASHA

The photos of them both looked intimate, casual, and hot. Morgan couldn’t deny that the ruse had worked, or that she didn’t wish she could have copies of the photos.

“I can keep on top of these, feed them enough without giving any real information,” Francine said smugly, flicking the pages of the red tops. “There’s a lot more talk online, but again, nothing we need to worry about for now. Just a little intrigue and a little excitement about the hot woman on your arm.” Francine enjoyed the way Morgan blushed. “Never fails to shift some more sales and keep the headlines positive.”

“And what about—” Alex said, as though Francine would know exactly what she was talking about.

“All in hand, I’ll keep in contact with him.”

Alex picked up the paper nearest to her and scanned the copy. “They don’t know Morgan’s name. But it won’t take long for someone to blab.”

Grabbing her phone, Morgan sat on the couch in her dressing gown, surrounded by bouquets of flowers that had been sent to Alex, and began to go through the myriad of texts and missed calls since the night before.

“I’ll live if they do,” Morgan said dryly. “My mother, on the other hand...” She held up the phone to indicate themany text messages she’d received overnight as people she knew caught wind of the story.

Her mother wanted to know if it was serious and should she expect a visit soon. She needed warning to make sure the house was tidy, and that Mason behaved. Zoe wanted all of the details, details that Morgan absolutely wouldn’t be sharing with her mother, or Zoe for that matter, and she was quickly kicked into touch with that idea.

She was more surprised to see Mason had messaged.

Mason: Hey sis, any chance your new gf can get some tickets to Swifts concert? Alison really wants to go.

Seriously, it was too early for this. She put the phone down just as breakfast was wheeled in. Coffee, four kinds of juice, cereals, yoghurts, and a heated section with the full English on offer.

“I am starving,” Morgan said. “I seem to have worked up an appetite with being your girlfriend.” She chuckled and winked when Francine was dealing with the porter and handing over a £20 note.
