This is what you get for spending time with the Alpha... and I don’t even see him that way. The Austin I know is very different, I like that I see something no one else does, although, there is some alpha in there…

I step back, they step towards me. I glare at the girl stupid enough to move closer to me. What the fuck? Is she actually looking for claw marks? I pull back on the growl I feel buildingin my chest. I’m going to kick Harry’s ass, and then Austin’s because who the hell wants to be known as wolf girl unless you’re dating Jacob Black? "No bite marks, that you can see..." I cock a brow and grin. "And my name is Mia Hark, just for future reference."

Honey blond gasps as darker shade opens her mouth to ask another invigorating question, I'm sure. I roll my eyes, turn on my heel, and strut away. I'm not going to get my hit, but someone else is.

So much anger has filled my body that I’ve made it to the lecture room. Don’t get in the way of a woman and her caffeine. The moment I’d seen him, I’d stalled. The crowd in the corridor is studying me, waiting to see what I do next. I need to make a decision before people start thinking that I'm crazy. Harry's laughter filters into the hall, clogging the air around me.

Decision made.

I open the door and like in the movies, the room stills as the air sparks with tension. I'm about to have an old western style stand-off with Harry and I can't deny the excitement that zips through me.

Brown eyes direct questions at me, but I also see uncertainty snake through the mud. I hold his gaze as I step towards him. He jerks up and out of his chair. I've never felt power like this, and now I understand why Avery loves it.

I hide my smirk as I walk to a vacant chair at the back of the room, dropping my bag as I let my books bang onto the floor. The sound reverberates around the room. My heart is pumping so fast that I'm sure it's going to burst out of me. It's been through so much over the last couple of days that I wouldn't blame it for giving up. The heavy pulse in my cheeks creates a flush.

I sit.

We wait.

The air crackles with unspoken words.

"Mia?"

"I wouldn't," I tell him. My tone giving kick ass vibes of its own.

"It wasn't meant to be anything serious. My podcast is fun?"

I stand up. "Fun..." I hiss. No one should have heard the word, I’d murmured it, but every single soul does. Some of them shift their feet. It’s that age old, don’t want to see it, but they have to watch. Like a car crash waiting to happen.

Harry swallows, hands held in front of him in surrender.

I saunter towards him. "I don't think Lydia thought it was fun when you called her out on her weight gain. Or Sarah, who you interviewed in detail about losing her virginity when you got her there under false pretences. Stop me if I'm wrong, Harry..." I edge closer.

"It wasn't... wasn't like that," Harry stutters.

How had I never seen this ugly side to him before now? After my own outing on his podcast, I’d researched and found Lydia and Sarah’s stories. "How was it when you entered my apartment with those fucking blueberry muffins?" I stop in front of him.

"It's business," he mumbles, his hands lift up and down. "It doesn't mean anything. There was no ill intent."

"Youusedme for gossip," I spit. Fire curls around my heart.Thisis why I don’t let people in!

Mud brown narrows. "Gossip is everywhere, you're not immune."

I hold my hands up, looking around at everyone. “Don’t you think it’s a little coincidental the moment Austin looks at me, the host ofOff Topicbecomes jealous? You like him, don’t you?” I tease.

He’s sweating, and that makes me smirk.

“No!”

"Your podcast king is sweating because I'm throwing the truth at him."

"I'm not sweating," he leers, wiping at his brow.

I close the smallest gap between us. "You will be when Austin finds you."

I have the satisfaction of watching the color drop from his face.

"He doesn't know who I am."
