"I've heard it all before. They can't hurt me."

My girl has been hurt defending my honor.

Fuck!

"I - " My cell buzzes and I see the name. I frown and answer. "Coach?"

"Boathouse, now!" He hangs up before I can ask why.

Coach demands our attendance, and he gets it. “You're coming with me." I look at my crew. "We need to head to the boathouse."

They don't question me. They simply gather their stuff, each of them looking at Mia with concern as we head into God only knows what.

Coach hasn't spoken a single word, but they aren't needed. There's plenty of them on the walls. In every color possible.

"I'm going to kill him," Lucas mutters.

His kill list is growing.

"There'll be no killing. What there will be is lots of cleaning!" Coach fists his hands against his hips. "The only place beatings happen is on the water!"

I grit my teeth as we fill buckets and start scrubbing at words that are meaningless, but the actions weigh too much. Zac and Harry have used their nine lives.

Mia sits on the bench at the back. Her cell is glued to her hand, face scrunched in concentration. Her eyes flick up and meet mine. Something in them makes me stand up. "What?"

She shakes her head, her mouth open.

"Mia?" I drop the brush and walk to her. The rhythmic scrubbing stops. The only sound is the water.

"I have to see Dean Tucker," she murmurs, worry lines begin popping along her forehead.

I frown. "When?"

"Now... immediately."

"What the hell for?!" Kit storms. "If he knew about this, he wouldn't be focusing on that bloody podcast, and punching Harry is the least of his worries!"

"He's already sent me my suspension papers..." She starts shaking.

This is because of me, because of her association with me, and I won’t have it. She’s the best of us and I’m letting her down because I want her. She’s mine, and that means I go to battle for her. Noise rushes into my head, buzzing so loudly that I want to lose my shit here and now. I know that’s not going to help the situation but how much more can happen in the space of a few hours? I’ll deal with one thing at a time, and the first is the fucking dean of the university.

"They can't do that without speaking with you first," Sawyer adds.

"Frank will do it if there is pressure from elsewhere." Coach steps from his office. "Go. I need to make a call."

Pressure? From the BS crew? Or is it the millions of followers on the podcast? Either way, the dean is about to feelmypressure. I take Mia's hand, linking our fingers and squeezing them to reassure her. The light squeeze I receive back hits my heart. I give each of my crew a single look.

The boathouse.

The podcast.

My girl.

This shit has to stop.

And I'm going to make it happen.
