“I don’t really want to be happy,” I tell him.

“I know what you mean, but this is our lives, Olson. Plus, I have a surprise for you.”

“You do?” My heart picks up a little at the thought of him having a surprise for me. What could it be?

“Yeah. So, drink your coffee and come on,” he says, nodding toward the door. I take a sip, but now I’m too excited to do anything else. I set the cup on the dresser and follow Ridge out of the room. He walks down the hall and opens the door to the spare bedroom as I look at him strangely.

“What are you doing?”

“I did somethin’ for you. Well, I had the guys do it while we were gone,” he tells me. I shake my head and walk closer, and when I step into the room, tears burn my eyes. The whole room has been set up like an artist's studio. There are canvases, paint, brushes, and an easel.

“Oh my god. You did all this?”

“Hope you don’t mind. I changed your spare room around a little.”

“How? When?”

“Do you like it?” I spin around to face him and grab his face in my hands, pulling him closer to me.

“I love it.” Then I kiss him. I kiss him hard, even as tears fall down my cheeks. No one has ever done anything like this for me. No one has ever cared enough to do anything like this.

My mind is a buzzing mess. I can't believe he did all this for me.

“Thank you so much, Ridge. This means everything to me.”

“I’m glad you like it. I thought maybe when you’re home, you could find some time to paint and do what you love.”

“It’s perfect. Thank you.” I hold him tighter, never wanting to let him go. This means everything, and I mean everything to me.

When I finally pull away from him, I wipe my eyes and take in everything in the room.

“How did you know what to get?”

“I asked for the best of everything.” I glance over my shoulder and smile at him while I walk around the room and take it all in. I never thought about turning this room into a studio to paint. I never had a reason to, but Ridge has given me that.

“Your present is in the bedroom.”

“You didn’t have to get me anything,” he tells me.

“I know. I wanted to, but I didn’t know what to get you, so don’t laugh,” I tell him with a smirk. Then I turn around and grab his hand, leading him back down to the bedroom. Ridge walks over and sits on the edge of the bed as I grab the small box out of the bedside table. I walk around the bed and hand it to him, watching as he looks up at me in surprise.

“It’s nothing huge,” I tell him. He picks at the paper and unwraps the box, pulling the lid off. Nestled inside is a silver lighter that has his club logo engraved into it.

“You had this made for me?” he asks as I nod my head.

“It’s not much, but I know you smoke, and I thought it would be cool,” I admit to him. He sets it on the bed and grabs my hand, tugging me into his lap. His lips crash against mine as he kisses me roughly. I savor every second of it, too. I know this isn’t going to last but God do I wish it could.

“Thank you, Olson. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten anything that special,” he tells me, pecking small kisses on my lips.

“It’s not much, but I thought you’d like it.”

“I love it, Princess. Now, you wanna eat somethin’, or you want me to eat you?” he asks, and a chill runs through my body.

“As much as I’d love to be your breakfast again, I’m starving.”

“Good. I had some food delivered.”

“On Christmas? How’d you do that?”
