“Maybe you should stay, Fury. The girls need you here more than I do.”

“My girls are fine,” Fury clipped. “Not abandoning my brother.”

“The thought never crossed my mind,” I replied, feeling like shit that I even made him think that. Fury was a stand-up brother. He was always one of the first to volunteer. Brother easily dropped everything to support another brother. God, Ireally needed to get a handle on my emotions. From the start, I’ve been all over the map, with no direction.

Swallowing my pride, I asked, “Where is Shame?”

“In his office, waiting for you,” Montana replied.

Nodding, I grabbed my bag and flung it over my shoulder. Walking out of my office, I headed down the hall to find the board members waiting. Dropping my bag at the door, I walked into Shame’s office to find him sitting in front of his computer, waiting.

“You ready to do this?” he asked, typing something onto the keyboard.

Taking a deep breath, I nodded.

It was now or never.

If I did this, there was no turning back. Once located, it would be only a matter of time before she was in my grasp again. Regardless of the outcome, I swallowed my fear and went with my gut.

“Yes. Activate Largo’s tracker.”

Shame began typing into his computer when he frowned.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, taking a step closer.

“Her subdermal tracker isn’t working. Almost like it’s not there.”

“How is that possible?” Montana asked, moving deeper into the room. “I watched myself as Bane put the damn thing in.”

“Don’t know what to tell you, Prez. It’s not working. There is nothing.”

“She has two others,” I muttered, as the brothers all looked at me like I’d lost my damn mind. All but Montana, who just smirked, shaking his head, knowing what I had done. Maybe I had lost my mind, but she was my wife and I wasn’t taking any chances where she or Sophia were concerned. Reaching into my wallet, I pulled out a small piece of paper, reading off the codes to the other trackers.

Typing fast, Shame sighed, “All right, tracker number two.”

“The teardrop diamond necklace,” I stated.

“Okay, her necklace is currently in a pawnshop in Brooklyn.”

“The one I gave her?” Montana asked, glowering as he looked at me. Yeah, one of her trackers was in the necklace that Montana gave her on her birthday. Largo loved that necklace. Never took it off. For her to pawn it meant she was desperate and out of options.

Nodding, I ordered, “Try the dental implant.”

“Jesus fuck, Mercy!” Storm exclaimed. “Just how many times did you tag your wife?”

“Not enough, apparently,” I muttered as Shame grinned. “Eureka! She’s in the city. Wait, a minute...” he added, typing furiously on his keyboard before he turned to look at me.

“She’s outside your building. At Davenport Tower.”

Running from the room, I didn’t bother to look back.

All I could think about was getting to her.

She came home.

Home to me.
