Frowning, I cursed, “That son of a bitch.”

“What?” Tessa asked.

“Montana didn’t know about the clause until George told him. I only knew about it because I saw Virginia’s back once and asked what happened. George sat in that fucking boardroom and told Montana and Mercy that the only way I could come back is if the board agreed to the punishment. He fucking knew I was his daughter, and he still insisted that the club punish me. That motherfucker!”

Getting to my feet, I headed for the kitchen door.

“Where are you going, Largo?” Tessa asked.

“I’m going to have a fucking talk with dear old Dad.”

Chapter Twenty-Seven

Mercy

“Thank you for coming on such short notice, Renaldo. We’ve got a situation here that involves your family, and while most of what I’m about to tell you is personal club business, there are factors that involve your family. Your father Rafaello, specifically,” Montana stated, looking at the head of the Romano family.

“Go ahead,” the man said firmly, bracing himself.

I had to hand it to Renaldo. The man was cool as a cucumber. He didn’t flinch or react once. He sat there and listened to everything Montana said, never interrupting. Not even his brothers, Romeo or Rico, made a motion to stop Montana. However, when Montana stopped talking, Renaldo took a long, deep breath and sighed. “That’s a lot of speculation, Montana. While I appreciate your honesty and candor, I have no way of proving what you said.”

“Yes, we do,” Romeo growled.

Renaldo turned to his brother. “How?”

“We bring Aunt Cecilia here and make her talk. If what Montana said is correct, then I am betting Aunt Cecilia knew the truth. We all knew Uncle Stefano married her out of family obligation. He hated the woman. Once he said the vows, he continued living his life like the woman had never existed. Hell, Renaldo, we never saw Aunt Cecilia and Uncle Stefano together. We knew he was married, but not once did they ever appear in public together?”

“Romeo’s right, Renaldo,” Rico added. “Even Dad never publicly acknowledged the woman. The few times they were in the same room together, they ignored each other.”

Shame cleared his throat, garnering our attention. “I tried calling her. As soon as I told her my name, she hung up on me. I don’t see her talking to anyone.”

Renaldo chuckled while Romeo reached for his phone. “That’s where you are wrong. She still uses the name Romano and all that affords. She will talk. Make the call, brother.”

Putting the phone to his ear, we all heard Romeo say, “Luca, please pick up Cecila Romano and deliver her to the Soulless Sinners’ clubhouse. Take whoever you need. Expect resistance.”

Twenty minutes later, the boardroom door slammed open when two men shoved an irate woman inside. “How dare you treat me like this? I am Cecila Romano. Your aunt. I am family and you have your thugs handle me like I’m some criminal. If your father was alive, he would have your heads!”

“My father fucking hated your guts. Now, shut up and sit the fuck down,” Renaldo seethed, getting to his feet. Straightening his jacket, he walked around the table and leaned really close to the fuming woman and asked point blank, “Did you know your husband was having an affair?”

“Yes, I knew. The whole family fucking knew. He paraded that whore around as if she was the most precious thing on the planet. The fucking family loved her. Doted on her. I was his wife. Me! He treated me worse than a fucking dog!”

“Did you know he got Loraine Delgato pregnant?”

The hateful woman smirked. “That bitch lied to him. He could not father any children. He was infertile. That is why we never had children. But he did not care. He loved her andwanted her any way he could. Fucker got what he deserved and so did that bitch.”

Before any of us could stop him, Renaldo hauled off and slapped the woman across the face, hard. Grabbing her by her jacket, he pulled her to her feet and sneered, “Did you kill my uncle?”

The woman laughed. “Fuck you.”

“Let her go, Renaldo,” Montana said, standing beside him, glaring at the woman.

“Please, brother,” Romeo begged, his hand on Renaldo’s shoulder. “The bitch isn’t worth it. Let the club have her.”

Pushing the woman away, she stumbled to the floor in a heap. She looked up and chuckled. “You are just like your worthless father. So fucking weak.”

Montana quickly took the lead and ordered, “Malice, get this woman out of my sight. Put her in the cell next to the other bitch.”

Malice wasted no time hauling the woman to her feet while the boardroom door opened.
