I hear Jess and Bex scold Dean for taking so long to answer the door, then they make their way up to me. The bedroom door swings open. I brace myself as they both jump on the bed. “Happy wedding day!” they sing together.

Bex’s daughter, Poppy, climbs up onto the bed, and Grace follows, having been carried up by Jess.

Lauren walks into our room, her eyes barely open, her feet heavy on the floor. She just woke up, having spent the evening with her brother.

Jay came back once he heard of their uncle’s death. It didn’ttake long for Lauren to forgive him for leaving, and I’m pleased, because it appears the time away did them both some good. Lauren’s focusing on college and finding work. As for Jay, he started apprenticing for Dean five months ago.

“Morning sleepy head.”

She climbs in the bed. The more the merrier. “Morning,” she yawns.

I give her a hug.

Grace climbs into her arms, and Lauren holds her. They really have become the closest. Grace adores her, and well, Lauren’s great with her, doing everything Grace demands.

“Don’t suppose I can get changed before I have to leave?”

Rolling over, I look to Dean. He stands holding the frame of the door with one hand, a bunch of red roses in the other. I feel needy looking at him stood the way he is.

“Don’t worry, we’re leaving,” Bex says. She holds her hands out for Poppy. “You have five minutes.”

Dean’s eyebrows raise as Poppy waddles out, following Grace and Jess.

Bex walks to Dean, and he drops his hand as she passes. She stops, looking him square in the eye, then she looks to me. “Five minutes,” she holds up her finger, “I mean it. We have a lot of work to do.”

Everyone leaves the room leaving just me and Dean.

He closes the door before he walks to the side of the bed.

I push up to my knees, biting my lip. Taking the roses, I lift them to my nose, taking in their sweet smell.

His hands then slide under my thighs, and he lifts me until my legs wrap around his waist.

I let out a laugh. “We don’t have time for this,” I say against his lips.

He lays me flat on the bed, crawling his body over mine. “I’ll be quick.” He holds my hands above my head, pinning me down. His mouth finds my neck, and it takes every bit of strength I have not to give myself over to him. He smells so good, I could lose myself.

“Dean,” I moan, managing to push him back a bit with another laugh. “You’ll have to wait.”

“I don’t want to,” he moans, leaving another kiss on my neck below my ear.

“Four minutes,” Bex shouts from the hall.

Dean silences my laugh, his tongue invading my mouth.

I squeeze my legs. She really is going to make sure we stick to her schedule. “She will come in here,” I pant when he pulls away.

“I’ll give her a good show.” His lips drop to my mine once more.

“You’re being bad.”

“You love it.”

“Three minutes.” Dean groans as Bex shouts.

He drops his head into my neck. “Get me on our honeymoon.” One week in Greece, the ocean, sand and sun. Bliss. Dean climbs back, holding out a hand for me. He pulls me to stand. Holding my head in his hands, he studies me, his green eyes cruising across my face. “I’ll meet you at the altar, beautiful.”

I stand on tiptoes, wrapping my arms around his neck.
