“Then we need to convince her,” I state. We just found our little sister, and we need to keep her close so we can protect her. Both her and her mother.

We pull up in front of the apartment complex to find Angelica and Angela waiting for us. I laugh at Angelica, who reminds me of me since she’s bouncing around, and as excited to see us as I was at being a free woman again. Angelica drops Angela’s hand and rushes over to me when I get out of the car. Lifting her up, I swing her around as she giggles.

“Viper! I didn’t know you were coming with us!”

“Hey, little sis, it’s good to see you. You’ve grown since I last saw you.” I carry Angelica over to Angela, who watches us with a bemused look on her face.

“She really loves you guys,” Angela says.

“We love her, too,” Max replies, giving Angela a hug. I do the same after handing Angelica over to Max.

“We love you, too. You’re part of our family.” I release Angela to see her battling tears.

“Ready to get going?” Max asks. Angela wipes under her eyes and nods.

When we reach 1%, we find Wildcard waiting for us. Max and I each take one of Angelica’s hands as we follow Wildcard and Angela through the casino level. He shows her all the different sections where she could work.

“I like the uniforms,” Angela says as a woman carrying a tray of drinks walks by, giving us a smile. She’s wearing jeans, a white t-shirt, heavy motorcycle boots, and her leather kutte. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cocktail server wearing jeans, especially a female server.”

Wildcard chuckles. “We do things a little different here. Our dress code is basically biker chic. You can wear jeans, shorts, or a skirt. Your choice. Same for footwear, although no open-toed shoes. Safety risk. You can wear whatever you want on top, but we require you to wear the kutte over it. That way, the customers can find you.”

The kuttes they wear are like ours. They have their name embroidered on the front. But instead of the Demon Dawg logo on the back, theirs has the casino logo.

“Can’t say that I wouldn’t mind ditching the high heels. They kill my feet,” Angela laughs as Wildcard leads the way into the indoor pool.

“Employees have access to the pools and the weight room. You’ll have your own locker in the employee locker room, whereyou can store your belongings. We have a full spa that you’re welcome to use. Massages are free, and we offer a discount for the other treatments.”

“Wow,” Angela says.

“Can I go swimming, too?” Angelica asks, bouncing on her toes as if ready to dive in fully clothed.

Wildcard chuckles. “Of course, but only with your mom, okay?”

She nods happily as she grabs Max’s hand and swings around. “Maybe Max or Viper can take me?”

“I don’t see why not,” Angela says, grinning at her daughter.

“Yippee!” Angelica shouts, her little voice echoing around the space.

Wildcard leads us toward the elevator, and we ride up to the second floor.

“Our offices are on this floor, along with security. Did Reggie tell you he joined our security staff?” Wildcard asks her.

She nods. “He’s very excited. He also mentioned prospecting for the club.”

I glance at Wildcard, who nods. “I didn’t know that. Who’s sponsoring him?” I ask.

“I am. He’s a good guy. I think he’ll make a solid brother.”

I share a grin with Max. If Reggie becomes part of the club, that will help us keep Angela and Angelica close.

“Good, we need more prospects,” I say, glancing at Max. He’s coming up on his one-year anniversary as a prospect, and I know Puma is ready to take the vote to patch him in. Have to say I’m pretty proud of my twin brother.

“This is what I wanted to show you. We’re pretty proud of it,” Wildcard says as he stops in front of a locked door with a card reader next to it. A large mirrored window doesn’t show what’s inside. I see Angela frowning until he unlocks the door and opens it. Inside is complete chaos.

Kids are everywhere. A mixture of boys and girls around the age of twelve are in one corner playing a video game with controllers. They’re racing cars, screaming, and yelling as they make their way around the track. In another corner is a group of eight to ten-year-olds playing a different video game, this one more cartoonish. Another group is playing a board game. Younger kids sit in front of a woman who is reading to them while others sit at tables drawing or building with Legos. Several adults wander around the space, keeping a close eye on the kids.

“The daycare is free for employees,” Wildcard explains.
