Trey’s soft crooked grin turned wide and smug as he inched closer into her, “My mom is at work, I texted her and told her we made it home.”

“Oh, so she’s not here?” Maybelle asked, voice cracking.

Trey shook his head, his other hand now curving over her hip, “Nope, it’s just you and me here, May.”

Gulp, yes, she gulped.

“Are you headed back to school tomorrow?”

Maybelle really could not control herself, but Trey didn’t look fazed as his face neared hers.

“Yes, around noon.” He was whispering now, and his breath was so warm on her skin. His hand on her cheek now tangled up in her hair at the nape of her neck, keeping her close.

An inch, that was the only bit of space between their open mouths now.Oh god, she might pass out, just collapse in a heap on the floor right at his feet.

She wanted this, she wanted this so bad.

To kiss him, to tangle up against him. To feel him feeling her and they were so so close. Maybelle closed her eyes, held tightly to the bag in her arms and tilted her mouth ever, ever so slightly up to him.

The inch of space disappeared as skin met skin… only it wasn’t lips on lips. Trey had kissed the corner of her mouth, mostly the cheek.

Oh, holy goodness, he missed.

She opened her eyes and Trey was staring at her with the most maliciously teasing smirk on his face.

“Oh Mayhem… I think you might be obsessed with me.”

Her mouth gaped open as he began to laugh, practically effing giggled. Maybelle scoffed as she tried to take a step back but his hold on her didn’t falter. If he wasn’t going to let her run like the coward she was, then she was going to bite.

“No shit, Sherlock. It’s not like it’s a secret.” She barked out, through her now rapid and airy breaths, “I have been very vocal about how attractive I find you.” She argued, staring defiantly up at him, and half-heartedly pulling against his grasp. Trey brought her back against him and buried his face into her neck as amusement shook him.

Maybelle was rigid but all too taunted with the temptation to drop her rebellious efforts and the bag in her hands to hold his massive body entirely against hers.

Trey’s upturned lips pressed into the bare skin of her neck as he said, “God, May, you are so damn sexy when you’re sassy.”

His lips began to trail up her neck, lightly, lighting her senses on fire. She was melting, losing her hold on the bag in her hands and her grasp on reality.

“For the record, sweetheart” He whispered as he nipped at her ear, “You are the only thing that occupies my thoughts, I live, and breathe for you.” His feather light kisses trailed from her ear, across her jaw and up her chin making her head roll back, inviting him in.

“You were right that first night,” Trey spoke so sensually low, his voice humming against her skin, “I was obsessed with you then, but I am absolutely intoxicated, infatuated, fuckingconsumed by you now.”

His mouth collapsed against hers and this time he did not miss. No, Trey knew exactly where to go as his kisses overtook her. The hand in her hair fisted and begged for more while his other hand left her hip, plucked the backpack from her arms, and tossed it around her back into her open bedroom.

A small gasp escaped her as his large hand returned to her torso but slipped under her shirt and kneaded into her bare side. He pressed and pulled her body flush against his and her now free arms instinctively went around his sculpted middle, her fingers gripping the material of his shirt.

The spike of feeling and emotions that flooded her system with each new touch and sweep of his tongue against her lips made Maybelle quake. She thought she had been awake before, finally started real life when she made the choice to walk on her own but that was nothing in comparison to the fireand lightning coursing through her veins, pumping through her heart and powering her being.

This man made her feel more than alive, she was flying, she was invincible, unbreakable, she was priceless, an exquisite rarity. Trey’s heart raced frantically against her chest, but his hands and lips slowed their exploration. Both his considerable hands cupped her face while his thumbs stroked her cheeks as he broke the kiss.

Maybelle didn’t yet open her eyes, hoping to remain in the blissful quiet moment with only the sound of their deep, heavy breathing to fill the space between them.

“May,” He prayed into the air, Maybelle opened her eyes and met with Trey’s smiling forest green gaze, “I have been wanting to do that for a damn long time.”

He pressed himself against her for one last chaste kiss on her lips, before pulling away to place a peck on her brow, “Goodnight, Maybelle.” Trey whispered on her skin. Then he was gone, his body heat and presence stolen from her as he strolled down the hall to his bedroom. But before leaving the hall into his room he shot her one last look.

She was still standing in the same spot, like an idiot. Gawking after him, lacking the brainpower to function after such a magical moment. Maybelle stabilized herself against her door frame, straightening her posture.

Trey’s amusement grew as she worked to get control over herself. Still unable to use her words she hit him with a mock, lazy salute followed by a quick wave as she nearly stumbled into her bedroom. Once her door was shut and she was leaning up against the other side Maybelle finally inhaled, filling her lungs with a full, deep, needed breath.
