She bites her bottom lip. “He said someone else would have to do it, but he told me not to get attached because he’d kill them.”

“My best friend is going to kill me. Great. This is great,” I sigh, pressing my forehead against hers. “I definitely deserve it.”

She shakes her head against mine. “We just won’t tell him it was you.”

I push away from her, realizing I’m cuddling after sex and I’ve never wanted to do that before. “I’m a horrible friend. I just did something he’ll probably never forgive me for and all I care about is doing it again. It’s not enough. I’ll never have enough of you, and I feel horrible about it.”

She frowns. “He still hasn’t officially asked me to be his girlfriend. Technically, it wasn’t wrong.”

I grunt. “And what would you do if he slept with another girl?” I ask her.

“Oh, she would be dead.”

“What about if I slept with someone else?” I ask.

“I’ll tell you this once. If any of you sept with someone else, I would cut her open and leave her in your bed for you, then I would carve my name into your skin so you never forget who you belong to,” she says with a dangerous look in her eyes.

“Why am I hard now?” I stare down at my dick. She’s acting a little psycho, but I like the idea of her being possessive of me. Wait, shesaid any of us, not both. “Are you including Nox and Cain in that threat?”

Her mouth turns down, and she looks away. That’s all the answer I need from her. An idea starts to form in my head, but I don’t say anything to her. I don’t want to freak her out or anything, and I have no idea if the other guys would agree to something a little unorthodox. If they feel the same way as I do, it might be worth a try. I’ve just got to figure out a way to convince them without actually saying anything.

On Friday, Sandy is staying out of the dorm for some kind of all-night study session with some of her new sorority sisters. Zane’s still pretty busy on whatever job Cain has him doing. He’s been upset, since it’s taking him a lot longer than usual, so we’ve barely gotten a chance to hang out. I haven’t had a chance to tell him about my virginity.

I figure that’s an important conversation to have in person and it wouldn’t be right to do it casually. At the coffee shop—can you pass the sugar? Oh, and by the way, Sloane railed me in the library—or between classes—thanks for taking me to class. Know what else was taken? My virginity! See you later. Neither of those options really seem plausible.

Sloane has surprisingly not been icing me out like usual. While neither of us are outright flirting, there’s some sexual tension there. Or maybe that’s just me, who knows? That would be an awkward thing to ask the guy who you surprise attacked with your virginity. He texts me and calls me, telling me about hockey and his day, and I tell him about mine. Sometimes he calls late at night just to talk. It’s nice to see a softerside of him.

My phone vibrates and I look away from my criminology book that I wasn’t actually reading to pick it up.

Nox

Tell me again why exams are necessary.

A smile comes unbidden to my lips. Nox stuck to his word, and we became texting buddies. We talk all day every day, when neither of us are in classes. He’s actually really funny when he opens up. While he hasn’t really told me anything personal about himself, I’m finally getting to see more of his personality.

Viv

Something about making sure we understand the material and breaking our spirits.

Nox

Ha! Sounds about right. You studying too?

Viv

Unfortunately, though I think I can practically recite all of my textbooks at this point.

Nox

Yeah, me too. So, I saw something interesting today.

Viv

Oh yeah?

Nox
