Gianney: She’s going to know the truth.
Whether it’s tonight, tomorrow, or next week. Gianney decided to play with the wrong one, and his feelings must be hurt from not being the golden boy in his father’s eye. Reading his text message fuels my ideas on how much he’s going to suffer at my hands.
Me: She might be your sister, but she’s my wife.
Gianney: Funny because she’s still in love with Mark.
Me: If I was insecure like you, that would have me questioning my woman, but I have real boss moves to make.
Gianney: Have your fun now, but Nyla won’t be around you much longer.
Me: Real boss would meet in person.
Gianney: Soon.
Maybe it was wrong to taunt him further, but fucking with me was no longer an option.
Savio hung around the bar in the living room. I flung my jacket on the couch, then ran out to find Nyla. I didn’t see her in the kitchen, or my office.
“Nyla!” Calling her name, I pushed the bedroom door wide, seeing the bed made and her things still in the closet.
“Where did she go?” Renato startled me, as he walked into my bedroom.
“Probably with your wife.”
“Hey babe.”
I swiveled around to Nyla holding bags in her hands. “Where were you?” I grabbed the bags from her hands, placing them on top of the bed.
Kicking off her heels, Nyla took her purse and put it on top of the dresser. “Out shopping with Cassandra for my birthday.”
“Your birthday.”
“Yeah, I turned 23,” Nyla answered, peering between Renato and me.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
Renato stepped out of our bedroom.
“Honestly, I didn't think you would care.”
“You are my wife, Nyla.”
“I get that, but we're still learning each other, and putting stress on you to do something for my birthday felt wrong.”
Catching her hands, I pressed them to my lips. “Celebrating you is important to me.”
Grinning, she said, “Thank you.”
“So, what do you want to do?”
Nyla picked at my suit jacket. “Um, Cassandra and I planned dinner.”
“Cancel it.”
“Vincenzo, you do a lot for me already.”
