“No security is trailing; she’s making threats about knowing we killed Mark.”

“Handle Angelina first and send the men to keep an eye on Nancy’s house,” Elio commanded.

“You want her to disappear?” Renato slipped black gloves on his hands.

“Like she never existed.”

“Sante said you're heading to pick up Cono in Chesterton,” Elio reminded me.

After shaking hands with my brothers, I hopped in the car. Renato went into the restaurant with Elio after talking to the manager and hostess outside. Carter rushed from the area. I dialed Savio to give him an update.

“Renato informed me you took it upon yourself to make a move in public,” Savio grimaced.

“Had to be done, she wouldn’t stop.”

“Cleaning up behind you is pissing me off, Vincenzo,” Savio voiced.

I take a glimpse at Nyla’s worried stare. “Then don’t.”

“Where are you heading to now?”

“Handle Cono.”

“Then you’ve made your decision, and I can’t stop you.”

“No, you can’t.”

Hanging up on Savio would have us in a fistfight, but I had already decided to put an end to everyone who was trying to play with our relationship.

Traffic had us arriving an hour later.

“Stay here while I check out the scene.”

“No, I’m going with you.”

“Nyla, you need to stay here. The less you’re involved, the better.”

“There's blood on your shirt.” Nyla ran a hand down my sleeve.

“Once I take care of him, we can go home.”

“Not this time, Vincenzo. You took care of Angelina. Let me prove my loyalty.”

Cuffing her cheeks, I said, “Your loyalty was proven when you married me.”

“It would be better if I go. He’s not expecting me, and his guard will be down.”

Facing the small gray-stoned home, we saw a car in the driveway.

“I’m going with you.”

“Give me your gun.”

“No.”

“I know how to shoot, and I promise to be careful.”

“Never wanted you this deep in cartel business.”
