“What does that have to do with me?”

Cono’s belligerent tone annoyed me. “Your niece owes me five million dollars.”

“I haven't talked to my niece in three years. How do you know her?”

“I’d be happy to meet in person to explain.”

My words were greeted with a long pause. “Very well. Send me the details.”

I ended the call and tossed the phone back to my guard.

Worry darkened Nyla’s face. “We can work out a solution.”

I frowned. “The only solution is getting back my money.”

“He hates me.”

“What are you saying?”

“My parents left a trust for me, but my uncle hated my mother. He said she took my father away from the family.”

“Your family problems will have to wait until I get my money back.”

I handcuffed Nyla again before we stepped into the bar. I told her to point out the men who’d dealt with Mark.

“All I know is that his name is Gianney Greco.”

My pulse hiked at hearing Greco’s name. We’d taken over their areas and business since their Boss had been killed.

“Point him out.”

Nyla scanned the room. “I don’t see him.”

“If you’re lying to me—”

“I’m not!” she shouted, trying to squirm away from me.

A few patrons turned at her raised voice.

I grasped her arm and pushed her to the other side of the bar. “Keep your voice down.”

“Can I help you?” The bartender’s eyes dropped to the handcuffs on Nyla’s wrists.

I nodded. “I’m looking for Gianney Greco.”

The bartender shook his head. “Never heard of him.”

I pushed Nyla toward one of my guards. “Take her outside.”

I released her as the guard moved forward, and Nyla made a run for it. I took off after her, exiting the bar and looking left and right. I saw Nyla sprinting up the street, pushing through pedestrians and screaming for help.

“Fuck!” I cursed as she made a beeline for two police officers. Hiding behind a wall, I pulled out my cell phone to call Renato.

He answered on the first ring. “What’s up?”

“Nyla got away.” Damn. Having the police involved would set us back.

“How?”
