“Claiming your man,” Lana joked.

“Believe me I would have never married him if he had someone seriously.”

Lana washed the sink next to her station. “Men love to play games.”

For the rest of the visit, she and I tittered, joking about her latest boytoy. An hour passed, and we hopped back into the car.

I made it home to meet Vincenzo in the bedroom, fresh out of the shower.

“Hi,” I said.

He dropped his towel on the floor, then reached out to pull me to his chest. He pecked me on the lips. “You smell delicious.” Vincenzo cradled the back of my head.

“We have dinner reservations,” I told him, pressing a kiss on his cheek.

Vincenzo smacked and groped my ass, sitting me on top of the dresser. Pushing my legs apart, his palm clasped my thigh. I could practically taste the desire from his lips.

He grinned, pushing his tongue into my mouth. “Have my full meal right here.”

I pressed my breasts against his chest. One corner of my mouth pulled into a slight smile, and I dreamed of being crushed within his embrace.

Ran my hand down his chest. “I’m hungry, can we go eat please, and later I promise we can do whatever you like.”

Groaning, he stood back and kissed me again, helping me down. “Give me a second to get dressed.”

“Wear that brown sweater. I think you're sexy in it, like you’re a professor and I’m the student. Maybe we can play dress up.” Happiness filled me as I talked, and for the first time ever, it seemed real.

He threw his head back in a laugh.

I skipped into the bathroom to freshen up and change clothes.

Forty minutes later, we arrived, holding hands. He pulled out my chair and kissed me again.

“You have a little red lipstick, babe.” Picking up the napkin, I wiped it off the side of his lip.

Gazing up, I smiled at our waitress as she laid the menus down on the table. “What are your specials?” I quizzed.

She explained. “For today we have the sea bass and steamed vegetables.”

“Bring me the special of the day please and a side of fries.” I was starving, after lunch earlier I didn’t eat much. As Vincenzo started to give his order, I saw my phone glow with unknown text showing. Opening I saw a message from stating to meet tomorrow.

“What has your attention?” Vincenzo investigated.

“Cassandra texting about Ralph.” I lied, ignoring the text thread. Reaching for his hand, I interlocked our fingers.

“You look beautiful.”

“Thank you, Vinny,” I cooed, cupping my chin, mesmerized by his dazzling blue eyes.

After lifting the bottle of champagne, he filled our glasses.

“Vincenzo, are you okay with me?”

“Okay, how?”

“Building a real marriage. The money from the trust fund isn’t real, and I can’t pay back the money. Cono won't let it slide if I don’t sign over anything to him. Maybe we should look into annulment.”

“He’s not getting a dime from me and my family.”
