None of it makes any sense to him, especially not when he runs into her drowning her misery at a bar in Chicago on the one-year anniversary of when they met. Nothing between them has changed. Loving her is still as magical as it ever was, but her secrets, her instance that no one will make decisions for her, is just as prominent as ever.
He’s determined to get her back though. He can’t imagine spending the rest of his life without her. So the unexpected invitation to join her for Christmas at her parents again, has him eagerly heading out. If he only gets one gift for the rest of his life, it’s to make Lisa his forever. Whatever she’s been hiding won’t have him running away. Nothing will ever stop him from loving her and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to show her that, show her that she can trust him, his love, and hers for him. He’ll never let her down.
