Knowledge is power, or so they say.
I’d wanted answers, but the cost was higher than I was prepared to pay.
I’m supposed to be powerful, one of the last of my kind, yet I feel anything but.
I’ve let down my friend. Someone who’s never given up on me despite our differences and how crazy I might drive him.
My bonds are strained, and the people I love keep getting hurt because of me.

I won’t keep letting that happen. No matter what it takes or who I have to turn to for help.
They think Ryker is a monster, and maybe he is, but I’m not afraid of him.
Besides, who better to teach you to take down a monster than one raised by him?
They followed me here, and if I have to follow Lyle into the darkness to save him…so be it.

**Shaped by Darkness is book three in the Beasts of Extinction Series and will end on a cliffhanger.
