Jordan's Dilemma

Name: Jordan's Dilemma
Author: Annie Lucas

Five years ago, orcs emerged from the underground and claimed the mountain peaks as their own.
Dr. Jordan Bennett has built a careful life as an ER physician, never expecting to encounter the reclusive orc clans who keep to themselves high in the Appalachian mountains. Orcs have their own healers, their own ways and no need for modern medicine—until the night Chieftain Ruka crashes through her emergency room doors with a dying child in his arms.

Jordan will do anything to save the boy. Hospital administration has other ideas.

When the child is discharged before his treatment is complete, Jordan has no other choice: she follows Ruka into the mountains to finish what she started and save the young boy’s life. But the Orc village is nothing like she imagined. Instead of savagery, she discovers peace. Instead of hostility, she finds acceptance.

And then there’s Ruka—fierce, protective, impossible to ignore.

Just as Jordan begins to question everything she thought she knew about the orcs and herself, a mysterious illness ravages the village. Now she must choose between the safe, carefully constructed life she’d always planned and the people—and the chieftain—she’s come to love.
