Pookie
I’m broke, homeless, and running from a violent ex. So, when I land a bartending job at Mr. Pink’s, I think I’ve found a lifeline. Instead, I find a reality TV camera crew. Cast as the fresh meat, production’s first order of business is getting me to make friends with the Pink Stallions—a raunchy and cliquish group of dancing bartenders masquerading as cowboys.
The next thing I know, I’m moving in with the show’s resident golden boy, Braxton.
Braxton is cocky, loud, and supposedly straight. He’s everything I tend to avoid, but behind closed doors, he’s the only person who makes me feel safe. Now, the hardest part of the job isn’t acting—it’s resisting the boy who looks at me like he wants to devour me.

Braxton
What do I think about Pookie? He’s a handsome dude, but I’m not into him.
Because, look, I’m not gay. I just dance shirtless at the hottest gay bar in NYC for cold, hard cash. But when my cheating girlfriend leaves me with an apartment I can’t afford, production hands me a solution: take in the mysterious new guy for a fake bromance storyline.
It was supposed to be easy money. But there is nothing fake about the protective rage that hits me when I notice the faded bruises on his skin. The closer I get to Pookie, the more I realize the biggest lie I’ve ever told is the one I tell myself.
