King of Serpents
Therxian’s plan had been to live out the rest of his life as the leader of the hunt among the Vehal. He had never planned to return to the Aglatha or the shinara that raised him. But when his younger brother, Slengral escapes, Therxian must face all that he had left behind in order to be a vehicle of change and destroy the power of the council. Even that means taking on a Seshanamitesh mate from among their numbers in order to destroy the system from within.
But the gods have a sense of humor. Not only does he suddenly have the burden of caring for and hiding a crash-landed and stranded human female, but his carefully designed plan to strategically select a mate is thrown into chaos in the form of a rotating breeding program among the noble females. It is an impossible situation that he cannot escape. Though having a clever female hidden in his nest rapidly proves to be quite beneficial… and far too alluring. Until proximity begins to stir his instincts in ways he never planned for.
Beyond that, however, an older story within the shinara is playing its part, and a betrayer is waiting to spring her trap. But who is it? And what does fate hold for him and his Alex?
