Mafia’s Dirty Secret

Marie:
Unwanted. Ungrateful. B!tch.
That’s what Marie’s mother always calls her.
She never wanted Marie in the first place and never stops reminding her.
Marie almost escaped her abusive mother once.
If only she really could have been a bitch.
If only she could have left and let her mother rot away in her sickbed…
She could be at university now, studying to become a doctor.
Instead, she’s trapped in a place where she’s an outcast.
Day after day, taking care of her mother’s every need and enduring every abuse.
Until she meets him.
Surely, a man like that wouldn’t notice her. Except… he had.
But he’s far more than just a gorgeous stranger to her.
He’s given her hope.
He’s given her a purpose, a reason to live.
But good things never happen to someone like her, do they?

Matteo:
Greedy. Worthless. Wh*re.
That’s the woman he was expecting.
But she isn’t what they said, she’s nothing like that.
Unless she’s playing a role? She’s an actress’s daughter after all.
Meeting Marie was no accident.
It may have seemed like it to her, but it was all planned.
Some people don’t want her around…
She’s a threat to him and everything he has.
He needs her to fall for him before he can make his next move.
But how does he deal with a woman like her?
Not the money-grabbing tramp he thought she’d be…
More importantly, how does he keep her out of his system?
Falling for her is not an option.
It was never in the game plan.
It wasn’t the arrangement.
