Wedding at Pemberley
Author’s Note
Wedding at Pemberley holds a special place in my heart as one of my first Pride and Prejudice variations. This new edition returns with a fresh cover and extensive editorial revision, along with additions that enrich the plot while preserving the story and spirit of the original.
Elizabeth Bennet once refused Mr Darcy. Now she is ready to marry him. Lady Catherine has other plans.
Two months after Hunsford, an unexpected meeting in London gives Elizabeth and Darcy a chance to discover what wounded pride and mistaken judgement had concealed. His attentions awaken feelings she never expected, while her growing warmth restores the hopes he had scarcely dared to cherish.
By the time they reunite at Pemberley, Darcy urgently needs to marry to thwart Lady Catherine’s scheme to secure him for her daughter. He longs for Elizabeth alone, but can he hope that the woman who once refused him will now accept his hand—and agree to a hurried wedding?
Surrounded by the beauty of his home and the warmth of his affection, Elizabeth discovers how eagerly she wishes to share his life. Yet their happy plans soon encounter a family scandal and unwelcome interference. Friends offer help, enemies seize opportunities, and the journey to the altar proves far less peaceful than either imagined.
Elizabeth and Darcy have finally understood each other. Now they must persuade everyone else to leave them alone long enough to marry.
The wedding at Pemberley is a low-angst Pride and Prejudice variation, brimming with passionate romance, affectionate humour, family intrigue, and the promise of a joyful happy ending.
