The bird-shifters have ruled the world passing as angels for what feels like an eternity.

To avoid history repeating itself, in the aftermath of the revolution that took over Paris, a council made of both humans and shapeshifters was created.
Their first order: to help smooth relations between the two kinds by forcing shapeshifters back to school to make them learn “forgotten” human languages.
Shapeshifters are the only ones who “forgot” those languages, though, so the aim is mostly to help everyone meet halfway.

Until him.
Louis is charming, cocky, and insufferably persistent. He’s decided I’m his new prey.
I have no doubt that under his skin crawls a predator—one who wants to devour me whole, but one I’ll have to avoid at all costs.
My name is Constance, I’m a human French teacher, and I’m about to test the limits of the “no fraternizing with students” rule the school has in place. Or maybe the limits of my own sanity.

Or maybe both. Definitely both.
Only time will tell.
