The Baker’s Shadow
When grief calls to darkness, sometimes darkness answers.
Kaia Brennan is drowning. Her husband is dead, her bakery is failing, and she’s kneading dough at 3 AM just to feel something, anything, other than the crushing weight of loneliness.
Then he comes.
Malak is an ancient incubus, bound to hunt during the blood moon eclipse. He should take a virgin and disappear into shadow. Instead, he’s drawn to Kaia’s grief like a moth to flame and makes a catastrophic mistake. He doesn’t just feed on her darkness. He fills her emptiness with something of his own.
Something that shouldn’t be possible.
Now Kaia is pregnant with a child that pulses with shadow-magic, her bread is enchanted with emotions that manipulate the town, and a corrupt businessman is determined to destroy the supernatural barrier protecting them all, even if it means unleashing an ancient evil that devours everything in its path.
With the barrier cracking and monsters clawing their way into the world, Kaia and Malak must choose to run and let the town fall, or stand together and risk everything for a family that was never meant to exist.
A grumpy/sunshine paranormal romance where baking is magic, shadows have claws, and love is the most impossible recipe of all.
