Vortex
Vortex rides a 1941 Army Harley with one seat. No passenger. No old lady. Nobody to lose.
Then an Italian with a temper puts the town’s only realtor on the floor, and Vortex makes the mistake of telling her she has a fine ass.
Vortex. Bitter Slayers MC. Ex-special forces, raised in the system, and faster with a knife than most men are with a gun.
Allegra. Italian-born, five-foot-seven, and finished taking orders. Her brother didn’t come home from his last tour. He left her his savings and his rules: sit facing the door, swing first. She wants a home of her own. The realtor said there’s nothing for sale, so she knocked him out of his chair.
Her first morning cleaning the clubhouse, Vortex pins her to the hallway wall. “You’re my old lady from this moment on. No arguments.”
She doesn’t argue. She asks which room is his.
Someone is buying the town one deed at a time. Homes. Businesses. Land the club already owns. Nothing makes it to market, and the only realtor is suddenly driving a Mercedes.
The one man who won’t sell is an old rancher who calls Vortex “son.” His offers used to come in envelopes. Now they come with muscle.
Then a van tries to run Allegra off a back road.
Vortex spent years making sure he had nothing to lose. Now he has an old lady who shoots first, an old man who won’t leave his porch, and a company that wants them both gone.
He has one seat on his bike, a knife up his sleeve, and a very short list of people he’d kill for.
It just got two names longer…
