“He left a note in response.” She muttered and reached into her pocket to pull out the crumbled thing.

I had to give it to the guy. He had balls. But looking at Katerina, I didn’t think he would have them for much longer.
“What are you planning on doing?” I asked as I surveyed her mini path of destruction.
“Finishing what I started. Ripping up his entire driveway so he can’t pull that stupid fucking bike into it.” She said before she stormed back inside.
“I guess I’ll go put this back in the shed,” Riley said as he shook his head.
The man took it all in his stride and I was impressed.
I leaned against my car as I waited for Katerina to come back with whatever she needed for today.
Yeah. We could make it work.
Now we just had to convince her it was a good idea.

Katerina
Iwalked into Riley’s café with Leo trailing behind me. Riley was already here, having left Leo’s house early this morning to open and meet his new manager.
We hadn’t spoken again about our situation and things were awkward between us. Leo had offered me his spare room and Riley crashed on his couch.
It hadn’t escaped my attention that they had fallen into some kind of easy-going bro situation with each other and I wasn’t quite sure how to deal with that.
“Kat, your coffee is here,” Riley called when he saw me, nodding toward the counter. I smiled my thanks then froze when I saw the woman standing behind the counter with him.
She was tall, slim, in a fit way with beautiful long blonde hair and a perfect face of makeup. Her plain black clothes hugged her body in a way that showed off all her assets and her top revealed just a little more cleavage than normal.
She was gorgeous and standing very close to Riley. Too close. I felt an irrational surge of jealousy and immediately wanted to reach for my gun and shoot her in the leg.
“You okay there, Rina?” Leo asked softly and I glanced at him over my shoulder, seeing the amused expression as he looked at her.
“Uh-huh. Fine.” I muttered and he chuckled then shook his head, walking over to the counter.
“Hi there. What can I get for you?” The woman asked as she leaned over the counter with a beaming smile at Leo and I felt my eye twitch.
“I’ll have a protein smoothie thanks and a bowl of muesli,” Leo answered and inwardly I groaned at his boring choice of food.
The man needed to live a little.
“Of course. You look like you are a bit of a gym junkie. Do you go to one around here? I just moved here and I’m looking for a new gym.” She said and Leo smiled.
“I own the one over on Main Street.” He said and her eyes widened.
“Oh, the one called Hard Knocks? I was looking at that one. I will have to come by sometime and check it out.” She gushed.
