Page 27 of Angel's Kiss

“Aw, Angel Baby, I might buy one for the house,” I joke as I take her hand and kiss her knuckles, again the machine beeps.

I like that she is so responsive to my mouth on her.

“Are you done mooning over your lassie? You're going to make me gag,” Ian says from the far chair. I look over at him and realize what we're probably doing to him.

“When is your relief coming?” I ask him, knowing what he is doing to himself just being here. The torment he endured to protect Ana makes me proud to call him a friend.

“Just got here. I decided to come early to relieve Mr. Grumpy,” Raul says from the doorway.

“Finally, they’re making mushy eyes and alarms are going off,” Ian grumbles.

“Ha-ha, Ian, you're just jealous I'm not kissing you,” Ana says to him.

“Damn straight, lassie. You be good, little lass, and come home to us later. Any orders, boss?”

“Go rest. Timothy might need your help in the tech room later. We need another computer person here. I know he was teaching Bekah some things, but now she's stuck in London.”

“Okay, see you both later. Congrats, Bossman.” Ian walks to the bed to kiss my angel on the cheek, then he’s out the door. I watch him avoid the nurses’ station through the open door.

“Hello, Ms. Ana, how are you feeling this morning?” Raul says as he walks over and kisses Ana's hand.

I feel the urge to punch him but know he's just being nice. Both my men just kissed my girl without a second glance at me. I’ll be thoroughly kicking their arses the next time we are in the gym for taking liberties with my woman. The pride that they care for her too overwhelms me.

“I want to go home, Raul. I still need to put Isabella's crib, bassinet, book cases and changing station together. Now that the paint is dry I can set up her furniture.”

“Angel, I got that, don't worry.” I smile down at her. “You need to eat more, Ana.”

“Thank you, Joshua, but I'm not hungry. Besides, Ms. Helen's biscuits settle my stomach.” I watch as Raul slips something from his pocket.

“Ms. Helen called me this morning to ask me to bring you these. She said the same thing.” Raul hands her the bag of biscuits. Ana opens it, sighs, and reaches in for a biscuit. I relax as she takes a bite, she's finally eating.

“Did she pack me any of her porridge too?” She looks at him with hope in her eyes.

“No, she said you need to come home and get some. She also said don't ever do that to her again, lassie. She was worried.” He smiles at her

“Oh, she's so sweet. Thank you for the biscuits, Raul.”

I listen to their conversation and thank God she's still here with us. I'll make sure she gets her porridge and more biscuits if it makes her happy. Just then a technician walks in with a machine. Raul steps out into the hall, closing the door behind him.

“Ms. Preston, I'm here to do an ultrasound. My name is Alice.” She introduces herself as she pulls out towels and a few supplies from her cart with the ultrasound machine on it.

“Hello, Alice, this is Joshua. Can he stay?”

“Of course, ma’am.”

She better have said I could stay or they would've had to forcibly remove me.

The technician pulls the blanket down to Ana's hips and pulls her gown up to just under her breasts, leaving her pregnant belly exposed. The exposed, creamy skin is making me hard. I try to adjust myself without either woman noticing. The technician then squirts a gel on her belly, and Ana shivers. Both of them giggle. I'm still entranced by all that exposed skin. I want to kiss every inch of it and rub my hands over it.

I'm startled when a fast whooshing sound fills the air.

“What is that?” I ask the technician.

“That, daddy, is your baby's heartbeat,” the tech replies.

“Is it supposed to be that fast?” I watched the monitors throughout the night but they had the volume down, and I didn't understand them.

“Yes, haven't you been to any appointments with this lassie?”
