I vowed to show Barry every day what he meant to me. I would never take him or our love for granted.

“I love you.” I jumped into Barry’s arms, and he caught me. I knew he wouldn’t let me fall.

“I love you,con bu?m c?a tôi.” He spun us in a circle.

“You make me dizzy.” Twining my arms around his strong neck, I used it as an excuse to cling tighter.

“You delight me.” He grinned, making that elusive single dimple pop. “Come inside and fill my monochrome world with beauty and color.”

“I don’t even have a bag,” I told him. “We came straight here from dropping off Claire and Kyle at Footit’s. I don’t know how much beauty or color I can really be.”

“Blue-green eyes, golden hair, red-hot passion, you are color and beauty.”

“You are sound to break silence. Hope I thought I’d lost. A dream I didn’t dare dream.” I got it all out, even the biggest one. “You are music to me.”

It wasn’t my mother’s death that took away the music. It had been losing Barry.

“High praise.” He cleared his throat and gave me a hot look that said he’d show me what my saying those things meant to him later with both of us naked. I could read between those lines.

“Only you and Rachel, huh?” he asked, acknowledging my sister, who had joined us.

Rachel shook her head at us. “Addy can walk, you know.”

“I’m aware.” Barry’s brown eyes danced. “She stands about ten feet tall when those she cares about are threatened.”

“She’s right.” I tapped his shoulder. “You can put me down.”

“I could.” He squeezed my ass. “But I prefer not to.”

I didn’t fight it. I liked being toted around by him. I’d been alone a long time, fending for myself. I didn’t have anything to prove. Not to him or to myself anymore.

“Carry me inside then, already. I want to get in bed with you, and I’m sure Rachel would like to rest too.”

“There’ll be no resting in my bed, darlin’.” Barry winked at me, and my pussy quivered.

“Inside?” Rachel tapped her foot impatiently. “This century, maybe?”

“Right.” Barry pointed. “Door’s open. You head in first. We’ll follow.”

“Only Addy gets the VIP treatment, huh?” My sister shook her head but started moving.

“She earned that and then some tonight, facing down guys packing heat.” Barry followed her inside.

“She did. My sister is amazing. I’m just being a pain in your ass. You guys being so happy is awesome, but I’m beat.”

“Right.” Barry threw me over his broad shoulder.

I watched the ground go by as he enabled the downstairs alarm and led us through his commercial kitchen. He pointed out things I already knew along the way for Rachel’s benefit, and she complimented him. He slipped through the curtain, climbed the stairs, and when we entered his apartment, his alarm chirped.

“You weren’t kidding, Addy.” Rachel’s brows rose as she glanced around. “It’s like something fromMission: Impossibleto get up here.”

“You look funny upside down,” I said, and Barry let me slide off his shoulder to the floor. “Can I give her the full tour?”

“Yeah.” He gave that a nod. “I’ll enable the alarm, knock on Tommy’s door, and meet you in the music room.”

“I haven’t even seen the music room,” I grumbled, watching him stride away. That ass, his body, I lost my train of thought. If I even had one besides him.

“Addy.” Rachel tugged on my shirt. “Focus.”
