“But Iamyour mate.”

He sighed as he looked down. “Well, Rashi’id did say that too.”

I punched his arm. “You’re stupid, you know that? I told you. Pixa told you. Even Roger told you! Why didn’t you believe all the signs?”

“I fell in love with you before I even met you. The fact that you existed and you were my mate, it was too perfect. You’re too perfect for me.”

I narrowed my eyes as I looked at him in suspicion. “I still don’t get how you are this dense.”

He shoulders slumped. “I know. I’m a fool.”

“I think you need to do some groveling.”

His eyes darkened as he smiled. “I can grovel . . . ” Ricon flipped me on my back and my body bucked against my will. I wasn’t sure if human senses were supposed to be subjected to this much arousal. He crawled over me and kissed me on my lips. “I’m sorry. Can I ask you for your forgiveness every day I breathe?”

His kisses trailed down my cheek. “You wouldn’t have gotten hurt if I didn’t leave.”

“Well, that is true.”

“Chloe, give me a chance,” he pleaded.

“What kind of chance? Where do I fit in your life?”

“I would need to talk to Andy and Chex, but mates usually can come with us.”

“Unless you want to stay here.”

“I saw how you looked at me when I was at the convention. I think you’d rather me be blue,” he growled as he pulled at my pants.

I couldn’t help the giggle that fell out of my mouth and rolled my eyes. “Fine. Don’t leave me. Never again. And you do have a lot of forgiveness to earn. You remember when I told you about my family?”

Ricon stopped his kisses. His fingers were still tucked inside my waistband and his eyes widened as he realized what he had done. “Frax. I’m sorry, Chloe. I didn’t mean to hurt you even worse.”

My cheeks were wet with tears, and I desperately tried to look away, but his hand, strong and unyielding, kept me rooted in position. “It just hurt even more when Pixa told me that my greatest dream was still out of reach. It’s why I liked the stupid smut books. I wanted my own forever. Destined. Unequivocal. Unshakeable.”

He pulled me back into his arms. “I was a fool. I still am. Forever. Even if it’s on Earth.” His fingers wiped the tears off my cheeks. “I promise. And good thing for us, I’m normally not assigned to missions. They’re even training Rashi’id and Xyxyl for that.”

I nodded. “Sure, sure.”

“I love you, Chloe. You’re everything I’ve ever wanted, which is why I didn’t allow myself to have you. Truly have you like I wanted.”

He kissed me again, holding me tight.Forever. My dream.

Chapter 57

Chloe

“You were being threatened by aliens this entire time and never told me?” Andy screamed as I stepped out of my room. “They talked about killing me!”

Ricon trailed behind me. I shrugged. “You lied to me about aliens! You didn’t think that I wouldn’t want to be introduced to some hot ass aliens?”

Andy glowered. “I did. Ricon started vid messaging you.”

I rolled my eyes dramatically.

“You lied to me about Ricon.”

“And, you lied to me about being the daughter of royalty!” I screamed.
