Don’t kiss him.

You need to stop kissing him.

I give him a smile, and suggest, “Maybe just spin me again.”

He grins, spinning me faster, making the laughter spill out of me.

When we finally land in one place, Parker helps me to my feet. Still laughing, I lean against him until the dizziness wears off. As my vision clears, Tabitha comes into view.

“Is it possible for you two to be any cuter?” she jokes.

Yvie clicks her tongue. “They’re just trying to catch up to me and Lewis.”

Tabitha’s lip upturns, turning her back on Yvie. “Yeah, sure.”

From behind, Kai wraps his arms around Tabitha. “But seriously, stop being so cute. Now we all gotta step up our game.”

Tabitha laughs, patting Kai’s hands clasped against her stomach. “Don’t worry, babe. You’re already adorable, especially with those flowers.”

Kai kisses Tabitha’s cheek. “Thanks.”

He releases Tabitha and when she turns away, Kai sends me a wink.

I give him a thumbs up and he follows Tabitha to a bench seat.

Parker grabs his skateboard and sets it on the ground between us. “You’re up.”

I splutter a laugh. “You’re crazy.”

“Come on, I can teach you.” He gestures over his shoulder. “I bet you can master it before Yvie. Don’t you want to impress Lewis?”

I cup a hand over my mouth, mumbling, “I’m scared.”

Parker pulls on my wrist. “What was that?”

I don’t let him pry my hand away, shaking my head. “I’m scared.”

He tilts his head. “You’re scared?”

I push my hand harder against my mouth, nodding.

Parker laughs, holding out his hands. “I’ll hold you up.”

I lower my hand and look down at the skateboard. Parker rests one foot against it, waiting for me to step onto it.

“Kikki, you jumped off a cliff.”

“Don’t call me that.”

He smirks. “Is that all you heard? I’ll repeat it. You. Jumped. Off. A. Cliff.”

I shake out my hands, exhaling slowly. I clutch his hands and step one foot onto the board.

“Half your foot’s hanging off the board,” Parker says. “Slide it on further so you’ll get better balance.”

I scoot my foot across and lean my weight on Parker as I lift my other foot. With both feet on the board, it wobbles and makes me yelp.

Parker chuckles. “That’s it. You’re on the board.”
