“Oh.”

He nudges me. “How was your first night at camp? Did you sleep well?”

“Like a log.”

“So, does camping agree with you?” Tyler asks.

“It must,” I reply. “I always enjoy sitting out in nature, so it has some big pluses for me.”

“What about hiking and rock climbing?” Kai asks with a smirk.

“I can leave that to you boys,” I say.

Lewis nudges me. “I dunno. A girl who can jump off a cliff on her first attempt can probably scale a mountain.”

I giggle. “You might not want to put that much faith in me.”

Tyler points to the water. “Dad’s getting the boat ready. Are you gonna come out with us?”

I nod, swallowing a mouthful of breakfast. “I think I can deal with that.”

After some more small talk, we finish our breakfast and help clean the plates and cooking utensils.

“Hey,” Parker says, sidling up to me. “Haven’t had the chance to say good morning to you yet.”

I shrug. “You and Yvette looked cozy. I didn’t want to impose.”

“At least you got time with Lewis.”

I smile. “Yeah, and your other friends. I can’t believe I was scared to hang out with them. Everyone’s been so welcoming.”

“That’s because you’re awesome.” He gestures at the lake. “Did Ty tell you about the boat? What do you say? Are you gonna try water skiing?”

I suck in a breath. “I already know I’ll be bad at it, and falling into the water doesn’t help my confidence.”

Parker smirks. “You already drank the lake after jumping off the cliff.”

“Thanks for reminding me.”

“Do you want to come out on the boat anyway?”

“I’d totally be up for being a passenger.”

“Cool. Afterwards, we’re going rappelling.”

I flinch. “What’s that?”

“It’s where you scale down a mountain or cliff face with a rope.”

I wince. “Hard pass.”

Parker laughs. “That’s what you always say.”

“Don’t try to talk me into it by saying Lewis will be there.”

“Well, he will be. And Yvie’s ready to go. She already asked me to spot her.”

My eyebrow raises. “Not Lewis?”
