He grows a mischievous grin. “Nope. He’s all yours.”

I look around. “Where is Yvie, anyways?”

“Getting changed. She wanted to wear her bikini on the boat.”

My eyebrow raises. “Does she plan on getting in the water?”

Parker chuckles, clutching his elbows. “I don’t think so. But, heck, I’m not complaining.”

Yvie races out of our tent in her hot pink bikini. “Woo! Let’s go!”

She runs past us, pumping her arms into the air, and I couldn’t feel more uncomfortable. It’s just too much bare skin for this early in the morning.

Tabitha nudges Kai. “I’m not going on the boat at the same time as her.”

Kai shrugs. “Fine by me. We’ll go on the second trip. That way we get double the time without her.”

They catch my staring, and Tabitha winces. “Sorry. You and Yvie are friends now, right?”

I shake my head, very ready to say no, but I zip my lips. I don’t know what would happen to the group dynamics if I deny being friends with Yvette.

“Are you going out on the boat?” Kai asks.

I nod. “I guess I should get my bikini on.”

I don’t plan on getting in the water, but it’s an excuse to walk away from this awkwardness. Plus, Parker would be disappointed if I didn’t wear my blue bikini in front of Lewis again.

I hurriedly change in the tent, wearing a short yellow dress over the bikini, and then meet the others near the boat.

Parker smiles as I approach. “Hey there, sunshine.”

I smooth a hand down the dress. “Oh, yeah, I forgot that you like me in yellow.”

“Why are you even wearing a dress?” Yvie blurts from aboard the boat. “Are you shy?”

I don’t give her eye contact as Tyler’s dad helps me onto the boat.

Onboard, Yvette nudges Lewis. “Isn’t Kylie just the cutest? It’s like having a little kid around.”

Lewis mumbles a laugh. “I wouldn’t say that. She doesn’t look like a little kid to me.”

I look up and share a smile with Lewis.

Parker boards behind me. “Ah, Kylie’s not a little kid. Trust me, that’s not how she acts in private.”

I hide my face with a cupped hand and take a seat. “Okay, that’s enough.”

Yvettehumphs, sitting on the opposite side of the boat, folding her arms across her bare midsection.

As Tyler gets set up on the water skis, his dad says to Yvie, “You should have something on over your swimsuit if you’re getting out on the skis. You know, in case of any wardrobe malfunctions.”

Sitting next to Yvie, Lewis’s eyes light up and he stifles a laugh.

Yvette swats a hand. “I’m not getting on any skis. I’m not breaking my neck.”

“I could teach you,” Parker says, sitting by me.

Lewis puts a hand on Yvie’s bare thigh. “She’s gonna want a lesson from a real pro.”
