The door clicks open and we head inside, make our way through the small room, and head downstairs into the clubhouse.

I recognize most of the guys from my last visit, scanning the area to see if anyone’s going to start shit.

There’s only one person I’m worried about—Hammer.

A few of them glare at me once they see my hand intertwined with hers, but they can suck my dick.

It’s not like they’re going to say shit anyway.

Armor speaks up, “Hey guys, how was your trip?”

Armor is married to Oakleigh’s aunt, who’s Hammer’s sister.

She drops my hand and goes over to him, giving him a big bear hug. “It wasn’t too bad. I’m just so glad we can relax,”

Armor chuckles, “I bet,” Armor releases Oakleigh and extends a hand. “How are you doin’, Razor?”

I shake his hand. “Not too bad. You?”

He shrugs, “Can’t complain. Life’s been treatin’ us pretty good lately.”

My chest swells watching Oakleigh’s eyes light up as she says hello to everyone.

This right here is why I agreed to come here.

Seeing Oakleigh this happy is all I ever need, and while I make her happy, I know she misses them.

Hammer emerges from the back, face breaking into a smile the moment he sees his daughter.

Oakleigh goes up to him next, throwing her arms around his neck.

“Hey Dad,”

He speaks coolly to his daughter. “Hey baby girl, it’s been too long.”

His eyes meet mine over her shoulder and the warmth vanishes, replaced by the same iciness I’m used to from him.

Why am I not surprised?

Oakleigh pulls back from her father’s embrace and grabs my hand, leading me over.

She cocks a brow at her father, “Think you can play nice today and be chill?”

Hammer’s jaw clenches. “Highly doubt it.”

I extend my hand, and Hammer stares right at it, but won’t shake it.

I yank it back. “Nevermind.”

Oakleigh rolls her eyes, “When are you gonna get over this, Dad? Jesus.”

A few moments of silence pass us by.

Oakleigh glances between us anxiously, so I squeeze her hand reassuringly.

I’m not going to let her father rile me up too badly today.

“We're only passing through,” I say. "Heading up to Billings sometime tomorrow morning.”
