I told him it was crazy and that he should get a DNA test, when he told me they already discussed it and they were going to.

They got the results in yesterday, and it turns out they are related, sharing the same father.

She’s also Axel’s ol' lady and while I don’t know her too well, she’s been very kind.

Rosa saunters over to me, her dark sea green curls bouncing in the wind.

The woman exudes confidence every day of the week, and I’m a bit envious of her for it.

I force a smile. “Hey Rosa, what’s up?”

“Not too much,” she says, taking a seat beside me on the workbench. “I freaking love Mexico. The sun, the food, the people . . . I wish I would have come here sooner.”

“Yeah, me too. This has been my first time and I don’t know if I ever want to leave,” I nod, my thoughts drifting for a moment.

I don’t want to leave and that’s a fact.

I’m enjoying my time here in Mexico so much, or at least I was until my father showed up and ruined things.

Ever since his arrival, there’s been so much tension in the air.

It’s hard enough when there are so many new faces and personalities trying to blend together, but my father’s been adding to it.

“Are you okay?” Rosa asks, her tone suddenly laced with concern. “I think I lost you there for a minute.”

Immediately, I shake my head. “Yeah, I’m just a little distracted. Things have been tense since you all arrived,” I admit, avoiding her gaze. “Dad hasn't been making it any better.”

Rosa nods in understanding. “Yeah, it’s been a bit much, hasn’t it? But things will get better. It might just take a little bit of time.” Her words offer me a sense of peace.

“I sure hope so,” I say quietly, still lost in my own thoughts.

An image of Razor flashes in my mind.

Our relationship is complicated, to say the least, and we still haven’t had the discussion we need to.

I don’t know when we will, or if we ever will, but there’s going to come a point where I’m going to bring it up if he doesn’t.

It’s hard to ignore the chemistry between us.

Our connection is the most real thing I’ve ever felt, yet we need to figure out what the hell we’re doing.

“Hey,” Rosa nudges me gently with her elbow, pulling me out of my thoughts. “I don’t know a lot about what’s going on with your father besides the obvious, but we’ll figure it out.” She grins, giving me a semblance of hope.

I laugh, shaking my head. “I don’t know about that.”

Rosa cranes her next to the side. “Things won’t be so bad forever. Think about it this way, you’ve got my brother wrapped around your finger and we both know he’d do anything for you. One way or another, things with your Dad will settle down. I might nothave known Razor for long, but I can tell he’ll do anything for his woman.”

Arching my brows, I don’t know how much I can believe. “First of all, I’m not his woman. We’re just . . . hanging out.”

“Uh-huh, sure,” she teases, playfulness dancing in her tone. “Just remember, you’re not alone like this. If you need to vent about anything, I’m here.”

While I appreciate her offer, I don’t know how close I want to get to Rosa.

Sure, she’s Razor’s sister, but I don’t know much about her.

All I do know is that she’s Axel’s wife, and she and Razor share the same father, who was apparently a notorious cartel leader known for his monstrous ways.

If I’m going to be confiding in anyone, it’s going to end up being Amara.
