Damon stifles a laugh, “Sakura and Mouser have been tryin’ to have a baby for years. They did IVF, went through all of it and nothing worked. A while back they used a surrogate and she’s pregnant with their baby, and shortly after Sakura found out she’s having a baby too.”
Amara smiles brightly, “I’m happy for them. Sakura’s wanted to be a mother for as long as I can remember.”
A few moments of silence passes by until Zane speaks up, “I’ll have my club take a vote on the changes, including Axel and Zorro transferring down, as well as Cheyenne being our club medic. Damon, I want you to do the same, but don’t stress Sakura out. She’s pregnant, so we need to tread carefully.”
Damon nods, “I will, don’t worry. Kat would beat my ass if I stressed Sakura out too badly right now. We all know how long they’ve been trying. Might be best to wait until after the babies are born to bring it up.”
Amara speaks up, “That’s smart. Wait until after the babies are born,” she pauses for a moment and looks at Zane. “Who are you going to promote within your club to fill your positions?”
Zane inhales deeply, “As of right now, I can’t tell you. I don’t have the slightest idea.”
Amara nods in understanding, “I appreciate you offering me two of your men.”
Zane takes in a deep breath, “We want this to be successful, and to do that we have to unify the clubs even more. Your charter has a lot of growin’ to do, and you need men you can depend on by your side. These two, I’d trust my life with them.”
Axel softly smiles, “That means a lot, Prez.”
Zane shakes his head, “It shouldn’t. You’ve proven yourself plenty of times,” Zane licks his lips, “Is there anything else we need to discuss while we’re all here?”
Damon doesn’t waste a moment speaking up. “You know I don’t have a road captain here. I’m thinkin’ Mouser is a good fit, and I want you to OK me movin’ forward.”
Zane seems pleased with Damon’s choice. “Your club is your club, Damon. You know who’s qualified and who isn’t. All I ask is that you have your brothers vote on it to make it official.”
Damon nods in understanding. “Got it,”
Zane continues, “All right, so is there anything else?”
Everyone shakes their head, signaling we’re done for the day.
Zane claps his hands together, “Okay, we were all very productive. I think we should do this at least once a month between the main six of us.”
Amara takes a sip of her water, quickly swallowing. “I agree,”
Zane looks around at all of us, “Okay, well, take care everyone. I’ll speak to you soon.”
Before any of us can reply, he disconnects the call.
Damon’s eyes lock onto Amara’s, “Good seein’ you, and glad shit’s workin’ out for you.”
Amara smiles softly, “It is, let Kat know I said hi.”
Damon nods, “Will do. See you all soon,”
Damon drops from the call, and Amara exits out of the program, turning to the group of us.
Axel claps me on the shoulder but looks at Amara. “I really appreciate your support. It would be an honor to be your road captain.”
Shaking my head, I tell him how it is. “You don’t gotta thank me for shit. If Zane and Amara think you deserve this shit, you belong here.”
Axel can’t wipe the shit-eating grin off his face, “Rosa’s going to be elated.”
I bet she is.
Not going to lie, I’ll be happy to have the chance to have her around.
I never had a great childhood, or had family around much at all.
Maybe my sister coming into my life is my chance to do that.
